Jigglypuff can be deadly if you use him right. The sleeping move he does is crazy if its timed right. I also like Ganondorf and Link. Also Shreik is pretty badass. I can't wait for Brawl, hopefully they will make Snake amazing.

I would either go for Mario or CAPTAIN FUCKING FALCON.

Though I did favor young link for a while.

on the 64 Pikachu and yoshi. On melee i can rape anyone with everyone with few exceptions. MAINLY i use Marth, Captain Falcon, and Mr. Game and Watch. when i feel like embarassing someone i use yoshi or peach.

I play Pikachu. That little bastard is devastating in the air. The only character I have trouble with is Fox.

Sorted best to worst.

Back in the day:
Link
Samus
Mr. Game and Watch

Now:
Marth
Mario

Marth gets huge damage when you use the tip of the sword, so hard side + A is a common attack for me.

I like Melee... never got into the N64 version... spent too much time on Goldeneye.

Link / Samus / Sheik

Star Fox was among my favorites to use. Honestly, Ganondorf could be my most favorite in the game, but if he wasn't so slow. I guess it balances itself out.

2nd was DK.

I use Fox (I only play melee). I love how quick he is, and I have pretty good reflexes so he suits me great. I love how people will start throwing a punch at me but I can floor sweep them after they start the move and hit them before they make contact with my face. Good stuff.

Falco for me. I haven't played in a while though. Need to get back into it.

Shit, after reading this tread, I decided to play it again for the first time in over a year. I just barely beat a lvl 9 Capt. Falcon. I used to be able to beat three of them on a team. I still remembered all the moves and combos I used to do but my timing and aiming was way off.

I'm going to start playing it much more often now.

i can use any fucking character i want. Samus is my fav, all people who use fox want the fast cheap wins, so when you can play with someone other than fox let me know other than that stfu.

A few years ago I thought I was fuckin baller at smash melee. Then I spent a year at UH roomed next door to one of the best samus's in the world, found out I sucked balls, and then he taught me how to REALLY play. Now that I'm back in WA, hard to find anybody that can beat me. Seattle area, anybody down?

Heh, I used to hear this all the time for both Melee and SSB64. I remember 2 years ago there was a SSB64 tournament held at my school and every student had a chance to sign up, so about 70 joined. I initially was reluctant to join since i hadn't played the game in 6 years and I vaguely remembered how to play. Now the first day I showed up to the game club and saw everyone just playing the game and honing there skills. Taunts, yells, and boasting were rampant, although the tournament began the next week. Finally on the day of the competition, egos were everywhere. Some considered themselves invincible, and truly to others they were. But for about a week prior, I had practiced every day, just for the sake of winning ( I didn't really care about the prize money). My first match was a 4 man free for all and I completely dominated. Soon after I won my next match and gradually advanced. Eventually the other competitors would gather around me as I played, gasping and yelling at every attack.

Although I initially did not expect to get far, after about 3 months of competition, I finally reached the quarter finals. It still remained a 4 man free for all, with 3 of them attacking only me. Frustrating as it was I advanced. The final was against another pikachu (ironically the only 2 pikachus in the entire tournament reached the final), which i admit I was somewhat nervous about. But I won quickly. Every ego was crushed and I was happy to just have finished. Hell, i just did this as a spur of the moment thing in the beginning and I made some friends, overall it was a pleasant experience.

Now, my main point is, i played against a lot of people, most would say they could wipe the floor with me, only to be completely shocked when they lost. (The most common excuse was "I forgot the buttons".). But no matter how good you may think you are, there is always someone better.

(Sorry long post)

ATTENTION SEATTLE-AREA PEOPLE

Since there seems to be a good amount of you guys in or around the area that are down for some smash-ness, hit me up with a pm if you're interested in playing for fun. I know a bunch of people that would be down, and its as simple as deciding on a location and date. So pm me if you're down and I'll figure something out.
