NES emulator Video Recorder

My nes emulator (nestopia) has a built in vdieo recording feature, but it makes videos in this obscure file type .nsv

How do I go about converting this video into maybe .wmv so that I can put it on youtube?

That didn't work, but I think I know a solution

I need one of those programs that capture video of your computer screen, does anybody know of a good program (preferably free) that can do that?
