It is a funny post, I mean this guy is saying an intake, wide body and 50 shot of nitrous = 300hp/300tq and that car will NOT 0-60 less then 5.

The car is fast, but the owner is ricey with his sales approach.

yeah.. it is a high reving car, there is no way its pushing out 300hp AND 300tq... its hp engine specs are close to that of the rx8, it has very low torque, there is no way a 50shot of nitrous , and a CAI is going to pus the torque from less then 200 up to 300..
i can belvie the 50 shot of nitrous to move the hp up to 300 when its engaged.. but other then that.. .

First, I didn't type any of that, it's all found on the auction page. What is in bold, I found hilarious, because the vehicle basically contradicts itself. If you can't understand that you need to take an intro to Auto Mechanics class because you are ignorant when it comes to car modifying!

Keep this in mind, just because someone posts a horse power/torque number, doesn't make it true!

I mean come on, the 02 S2000 isn't even close to the 300hp mark @ the wheels and you think it's going to jump nearly 100hp with just a CAI & 50-shot of Nitrous? The stock ECU map doesn't even take advantage of any exhaust/engine modifications till you've reflashed your ECU. Hell to be honest, I'm not even sure if the NOS tank is 100% functional. Not only that, but he added weight with a wide body-kit, 18 inch rims (This will drop his speed substantially), and god knows what other items! These modifications, sure aren't going to give him more speed, and the car looks like shit.

There is truth in one of your points though... A stock S2k is very nice, quick, and able to beat many other cars stock for stock, but this isn't a stock S2k! Needless to say a well modified S2k is going to be a monster. Yet, this isn't well modified.

What's my point? How to spot a bullshit auction!
This guy has no idea how to modify a car and is going off his own ridiculous estimates with no dyno proof. You have to be an idiot to believe or even bid on this auction.

The Honda S2000 Has 240 Horsepower stock, if it is a 2002 it is the Ap1 engine with a redline at 9k. And if he has a intake from Injen its going to add a claimed 12 Hp, with a 50 shot of nitrous thats more than 300hp to the wheels when he needs it.

Fact - 240+10.6+50=300.6 Horsepower at the CRANK and that's IF the car makes what Injen claims their CAI will produce. Using the 11% power loss this makes it 267.53 rwhp.

Now quite being a fanboi and learn about automotive reality before you post more blatently biased and ignorant posts.

The S2000 is a very nice car and there is no need to make crap up to convince others that is better than it really is. I mean a Mazda 3 will "pwn shit on the street".

Your ignorance is truely underwhelming. Owning one or not is no excuse for the display of automotive stupidity. As an owner you should know that to pull 300 torque you would have to making in the neighborhood of 430 rwhp. The S2000 has excellent HP numbers for such a small displacement engine but it's seriously lacking in torque. Next time before you buy a car you should do a little research on it. I did a ton before I buy any of my cars.

If somebody had made equally as inaccurate claims about a 350Z I would be the first to call them on it...

And anytime you want to pit your S2000 agains my Z on the track, I'll be more than happy to give you an education there.

If you live anywhere near Seattle there is a track day on September 28th at Pacific raceway. Here's your chance to put your money where your mouth is. I'll be more than happy to school you.

I've owned the car since 2003 (September). It has 43,000 hard mile on it including 2 full seasons of Autocross and 2 road racing events and 4 tune and track days.

I've not had one lick of trouble out of it besides some feathering on the front tires (tires replaced for free by nissan). I'm on my second set of rears now and I'm going to be replacing them next month. The track and Autocross is hard on the tires.

The VQ is pretty darned bullet proof and I love the smooth incrimental power delivery.

Now if I can take care of the only thing I dislike about it I'll be very happy... The car has a pretty bad understeer in very tight slow corners.

With nitrous I'd say it's very possible, before I posted that I just saw a lot of 6.3s 0-60's and just figured that was the staple.

Now I did a deeper search and there's people getting 5.2 and 5.5 stock.

This kid probably beat the ever living shit out of this car... any car modified like this should be a huge red flag to buyers. You know that the only reason the car was modified like this because the kid wanted to turn his 4 banger into a supercar, and he probably drove it around like one. BIG problem on such a high strung open deck engine.

I'm surprised you picked a car (to race and participate in motorsports) that is well known in auto x for it's understeer issues. I guess if you want to throw thousands into suspension, weight reductions and tires then you might be able to compete with a stock Mini Cooper S. The Z is engineered and built by Nissan of America, lacking soul and pedigree. A very American'ized car.... but that is besides the point.

By "most cars on the street" I hope you are referring to economy cars... like old altimas, civics, corollas and escorts. If you want to compare apples to apples / price range to price range, the s2000 looses out more than the fanbois would like to admit. Also the S2000 interior is an aesthetic disaster. Not a Honda typical. HORRIBLE interior quality. A S2000, brand new, costs what.... $35,000? For that same money you could have a Mitsubishi Evo, STI, VW R32, etc... I know which one I would have picked.

S2000's in general are sick looking cars.

Honda in general is a well off company like Toyota. Their cars last a long time, keep value, and get decent mileage. Although a specific group of people have changed the views of "Honda".

Honda in general is a well off company like Toyota. Their cars last a long time, keep value, and get decent mileage. Although a specific group of people have changed the views of "Honda".

The problem starts when a Civic with:
1) A even lighter body ( No power anything or door handles )
2) A Engine swap with a full turbo upgraded (upwards of 20+psi) + a 150 shot of N20
3) No interior, but a tin can and tape (seatbelt)

Basically, a Civic that has been completely stripped of what little luxuries it had in the first place, beats a near stock Viper! Now we have a community of people that think all Honda's are race car material. When they are not!

Yes, Honda's are/have:
great on Gas...
very good resale..
cheap and affordable to buy and fix!
not too bad in the looks department; I wouldn't mind an 08 Accord EX Coupe.

No one is denying that!

P.S. - I'd rather buy an MAZDASPEED 5 than an S2000. :)

i agree with what you are saying... Civics arnt Race cars.. they arnt sports car, quite tryingto make them be.... but you cant take anything away from the sports/race cars they have made, the NSX and the s2000 are great sports cars....

I agree with you as well, I'm not trying to Bash the S2k from Honda, I'm knocking this pile of shit the guy is trying to sell. An actual S2k is a very nice vehicle and very handsome to boot, it's just not something I'd be interested in...
