CAR events questions

Hey guys, this is aimed more at people who attend races and car events.
I just have a few questions.

Since I'm moving to London Ontario, I'm going to try to start doing racing and car events (if money allows) since it's something I want to try as a career after I get my education. This will be the perfect opportunity for me since I'm close to the states and there's a gazzilion things in ontario.

So I'd like to know a few things. Do these car races and events usually have prizes? Such as if I win best looking subaru at a car event, or first place in a race. Or are these things you pay to get into just for your enjoyment?

Also, could some of you guys just give me some stories from experience.

as far as i know all the big formula 1 drivers started through go-karts. and for that you just have to spend around 7 grand (canadian) on equipment and hope you get good.

I live in London as well. What area of the city are you moving to? Anyways, the only racing events I go to around here is the dirt track in Delaware, and the drag races in Grand Bend. I have a few buddies that are really into racing so I can ask them if theres any cool places around here.

I'm moving in the area of western university I think. It's one of the new neighborhoods they're building. If you could get me all hooked up with racing people that'd be awsome! I'm probably going to be driving down next week to check on the house. I'll let you know if I do.

it also depends what you have, i communte From woodstock to london 4-5 times a week, every week, usally 4, but the 5th is if people on the rx8club are all getting together, you go, have fun, so if you own a suburau, go to the suburau website, and ask if theres anyone in ontario that is in to racing and where to go, people should hook you up

yea, I'm trying to decide whether it'd be smart to take a 15k loan out to buy that orange subaru...

just asked my dad where the house is and he said south west london, bout 15 min away from western university
