Am I the only one who saved the 755 homerun articles in the newspaper? I'll save it tomorrow, too. Who knows, might be worth some moolah someday.

I tried to get some newspapers valued the other day. They escorted me from the building.

Wow he hit that and all my friends (who know shit about sports but were only excited cause he broke the record) started praising the shit out of him. I have never been more upset with a record being broken. This guy does not deserve it. He will never be half the player or man that Hank Aaron was. Baseball is going down hill with this shit.

Although.......I would have loved to have caught that ball and sell that bitch and buy a house.

Yeah I know right? I mean, after he hit the 755 other homers...I thought for sure he wouldn't be able to hit one more.

ugh...you noob. Go watch some more sportscenter. Make sure you listen closely and remember all of the opinions you are supposed to have.

I'm normally not such a wide-eyed sentimentalist, but if you spend today bitching and moaning about the record being broken, you'll miss the larger (and longer-lasting) feeling of knowing you were witness to sports' arguably most hallowed record being broken.

Anyone else notice that its mostly the black commentators that stick up for Bonds, while everyone else knows he's guilty?

A bit like with OJ Simpson!

I'm a Nats fan and all and i deffinately agree with you that Basik is nothing special, and so this one thing is nothing for him to be remembered for, i really doubt he will be remembered at all. Anyone know who Aaron hit his off of number 715 i mean?

Anyone else notice that it's mostly white people who are in such an uproar over this? While everyone else realizes that, even if he juiced, he's still one of the greatest hitters of all time. And that even if he tested positive tomorrow, the penalty would be a 50 game suspension and then he'd be back on the field, so there's really no reason to get so worked up about this. And that it's mostly white people who refer to him as being "guilty" of doing something that wasn't illegal in the sport at the time in question.

Well, I hope he enjoys it while it last. I have a feeling A-Rod is going to demolish Bonds HR mark in another 7-8 years if he can remain healthy.

Al Downing. The ball was caught by Braves reliever Tom House.

Aaron's #714 was hit off Reds starter Jack Billingham.

A-Rod is going to beat it anyway so it'll be a short reign for Battering Ram Head.

That Mets fan is one lucky bastard, he was going to Austrailia. And was just spending 1 day in San Fran. So they bought tix before the game.

"Baseball memorabilia experts have pegged the ball's value at $400,000 to $500,000. That's well below the $3.3 million fetched by Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball in 1998."

i wonder if he will sell it or not

PattyWackit
08-08-2007, 02:40 PM
id sell a fucking baseball for 400k, shit costs like $5 at the store... I wouldnt get greedy with the money, I would gladly hand over the baseball for $400,000 - $500,000

its more money than i had before i got to the game, you know?

at least basik was good about it. in the interview after the game he didnt seem down about it and was enjoying his moment in the spotlight. I really think that whole "remembered for giving up the HR" thing is overrated, but its something certainly nobody really wants.
