Read on ign.com that it was "very imminent" and the site is down. Just checked the marketplace, it isn't up yet, but I would check the site tomorrow to see if sign-up or anything is available.

It's a fucking FPS game. How goddamn different are you expecting it to be? Do you want there to be little bunnies randomly showing up and telling us what to do to get more Pokemons or something?

As someone who has actually played the beta and not just a big mouth asshole, CoD 4 is NOT just like CoD 2. Actually it's drastically different and in many ways, most of them good or great so far. The beta only has three maps so that part kind of blows but the three maps are cool so there's that. Also the "RPG" element, i.e. the XP for add-ons part, is actually pretty cool and I like the idea.

I'm really digging this beta. I enjoy the XP and weapon unlock element, and I also enjoy picking up tricked out M4's off of dead bodies. Looking forward into putting some more time in and getting good.

My buddy - we're on TS - just said it loaded, and said all beta tokens were "reserved". Fucking bullshit. I almost don't want to play because of how much bullshit is involved. What kind of company can't even have a site that can stay up when it is needed? How much money have we given them?

It was confirmed that everybody who joined the 24hour draw got a token, everybody. I haven't gotten my yet cuz they're coming in waves but I can wait.

Edit: Im from Canada but I put that I was from the US. Will this be a problem? They said it was a US beta only.

They may find out and not give you a token. Oh, and the website says BE FUCKING PATIENT about the email. It could take as long as a week so they don't overload the server.

I will be addicted to this game for a long, long time.

It has the depth of the BF2142 upgrade system, if anybody played that. Though they are set upgrades, you cannot choose which you want. Half of the things are "Classified", so we have no idea what they are.

This is definitely the strongest online shooter sense GoW, if not better. The whole thing just feels so fluid it's amazing. I haven't had fun with a FPS in awhile but this did it for me for 6 straight hours. All the customization, sights, guns, nades and perks keeps you constantly guessing what they are going to throw at you.

That and I don't feel like i'm "grinding" for xp for ranks like I did in rainbow 6. I just feel like the ranks are a very shiny sidepoint to the game, and the main point is the amount of fun i'm having.


I'm buying this over Halo 3, this beta kicked H3's beta's ass.

The ranks are going to be more spread out in the real game, sorry chief. They just have them so close together so we could find any bugs faster with higher ranks.

By the way, what are the challenges you unlock at level 16? I got it last night, but I never saw what they were.
