What is strange to me about that vid is where the hell was her manager or mom or the entertainment director of that place? Why was the only one to help the head coach for a NBA team??

Only the managers and the players are alowed on the gym.

Answear to your question - The manager was the closest.

ya you have to feel sorry for her....But also she is an idiot to not prepare for it by knowing the words. I mean she knew ahead of time she was going to be doing it. When she was putting on that dress or doing her hair she could have been learning the damn words.

Still though, she is just a kid, got excited and flustered and I feel kinda bad for her.

You still gotta give her a buncha credit for actually going up there and singing.. @_@... Maybe she got nervous and choked on the words.

what?? she doesnt get credit just for going....

So like if you go to a kid rock concert and he comes out and says hi and then leaves you would say "gotta give him credit for coming out in fornt of all the people"

Shit no...She was there to sing the song, she had been picked, knew she was going to do it, got dressed for it and everything!

Sing the song bitch! No credit for just showing up.

For all you could know, oh dear ignorant one, she may have practiced the song hundreds of times. Unfortunately, there is a part of the human being that does get nervous, causing loss of memory with the words when singing. Especially if you're shy. Do you realize how many people were either there or watching? It's easy for one who doesn't have to do it, congrats.

Hey guess what? I am a musician. I perform all the time. I have performed as a drummer, as a keyboard player, as a guitarist and a singer.

Infact, I just performed last weekend. So I know that you need to prepare. That is why I said, she should have learned the words and gone over them while she was getting ready. She is young, probably never did it before so we can give her a break. But don't tell me about getting nervous or performing, like you said it is easy for those who don't have to do it but I do do it so I know what I am talking about.

congrats??

whatever...

Absolutely right. If you're gonna be a singer, you have to be ready and go out there. I feel bad cause she's young, so I guess I can let it slip a little... but people like Macy Gray have gotten the words wrong... that kind of shit is unforgiveable. Professional singer and you DON'T know the fucking lyrics to our Nations anthem?

She's not professional like Macy Gray. Anyway, I as well am an active performing musician. I know just as much as you of such topics.

Not at all. Obviously we have had quite different experiences during our performances. Regardless, it is known by every professional that even veteran singers can become overwhelmed in such situations. Especially a kid.

Yup. I have performed in front of people before and this has happened a few times. I'll get so nervous I will forget what I'm doing no matter how hard I practiced. Fortunately, I have always managed to cover up my mistakes so it's not obvious.

I really feel sorry for her. It's bad enough she humiliated herself in front that huge audience, but now the video gets published on the internet for thousands to see.

Guess I am just a better performer than you two.

Just kidding.

Ya she is a kid, not a pro and probably was really nervous. I feel bad for her like I said in my original post. (http://forum.ebaumsworld.com/showpost.php?p=323840&postcount=5)

I feel sorry for her! I'm sure she knew the words, she just got nervous and choked, I mean she's only 13. It could happen to the best. Furthermore... lol I think she's cute (i'm only 16 here, don't go callin the cops!) I wonder if she would be interested in some private lessons???? :D

She actually came onto Jay Leno and sang the national anthem again to prove that she could actually do it. It was so funny to see because everybody including Jay and Kevin got up and put their hand over their heart. Not that that is bad, but you just don't expect something like that from a talk show host. Good Memories...

I felt bad for her.. and I felt embarassed that none of them knew the lyrics.. It is the twilights last gleaming... not the starlights... though I admire the whole audience joining in.. that was very nice.

But yeah, she choked.. it happens. I was in high school doing a monologe from Blanche in a "Street Car named Desire" and just forgot everything. It was very.. VERY.. upsetting.. on stage with only my classmates.. I could only imagine how she felt.

What the hell did I "tell on her" for? I told her if she wanted to change the topic to start a new thread. There was no reason to change the topic of this one. It is not her thread anyway...

It took place in my town, the girl singing and all. I would've felt embarassed and would've changed schools...

Though the patriotic thing about that was that, when it all fell down, the head coach walked up and helped, while everyone stood back. Then once the two sang, the whole crowd, both teams, even the grouchy media stood up and put their hands on their hearts and all sang.

Bah the funniest thing about this whole damn clip is when the coach comes over to bail her out.She starts stumbling when she gets the words mixed up and wrong. She is saying " star lights last gleaming." Wich is wrong. The coach comes over and says "come on come one, stars light gleaming." Then they start singing the damn song incorrectly.Hell he does not know the words to it any more than she.You can tell by how he is stumbling through it in parts.
Sad sad sad indeed.
