I'm looking to buy a drumkit, does anyone have any ideas? I'm a beginner so I don't want anything pricey, but something good.
I fancy a Premier but they aren't usually cheap. Any others?

I'd recommend getting a standard full Tama kit. In my experience, Tama is always good. And the amount of drums on your kit would be just right (bass drum, snare, 2 rack toms, 1 floor tom, crash, hi-hat, maybe ride cymbal): Enough to give a beginner some good oppurtunities, but not too much so that you can't challenge yourself as well and learn the basics first before moving on to more advanced material.
Maybe something like this would suffice for you:

I don't know how expensive it is, though. But a kit of that size shouldn't be TOO expensive.

It's the shell kit only drumkit, btw.

a good starter kit would be the PEARL FORUM, 5 peice, comes with hardware and (or it did when i had mine) some (crappy) cymbals. usually runs about 500-600 usd
wahey i got mine 10 years ago, but now i have a better kit (yamaha tour custom)
good luck

I've been playing for almost 2 years now. I got this cheap $350 5 piece Sonar drum set, from this drum shop near my house. Then I bought some shitty cymbals, from guitar center. My kit doesn't sound good but it gets the job done.

A set of Tama Mirage's go for like $2,600. That's just for the 5 piece shell kit.
Your best bet would be finding an older set of Tama Rockstars, 'cause they don't make them anymore, and they were replaced by the Superstars.

Ah, damn, see that? I don't know shit about selecting good, cheaper brands of drumkits. Never mind what I said in my posts earlier in this thread. :err:
Tama is always great, though.

Gretsch Catalina Club Mod Drum Set drum sets are really nice for beginners. 700 for a four piece with an 8x12 tom, 14x16 floor tom, 20x22 kick drum, 6.5x14 snare drum. More versatile in styles then the Rockstar, too.
