Medieval total war 2

amazing game, easily one of the top 5 strategy games I have ever played.

Anybody else played it? Opinions?

Yeah, I have it. I beat the grand campaign as the english, though I cheated a lot at the end because I was having trouble in the Middle East.

Hated it compared to the original, the AI just wouldn't do what I'd tell them to..

the cavalry charge but was a real nuisance, the newest patch didn't even fix it for me, and now the artillery is bugged.. And why did they remove the option to choose your heir?

Alot of other errors as well, children aging at a different rate than adults etc etc. Most people probably wouldn't give 2 shits about these sort of things, but I do!^^

Yeah, it was good though I still really enjoyed Shogun the most when it came out, though I think I spent more time with Medieval 1 than Shogun. I don't know, I do like M2:TW, but it gets repetivie and old after a while. I do need to get the expansion though (is it out yet?) so then I can go back to playing it.

Aye it a good game, never seem to finish a campaign though, Just pre-ordered kingdoms too, might as well for 15 quid. Another reason to upgrade my PC, so i can play all the massive battles, lag free.

It was good but it was fucked. The AI was atrocious and it was bugged to shit... Fortunately, there are a multitude of mods out there that save it, and it's currently my favorite, most played game.

Yeah I love that game. I have like 15 campaigns open though... I like the variety.

Fighting battles is the best though. I just wish there were more historical battles to fight.

Feudal Japan is boring

it gets really repetitive once you have 25+ provinces, i find. the mongol/timurid hordes to add some dimension, however. i usually ended up in the middle of europe fighting crusading armies. i played as the egyptian faction for a while back in the day the game was new, that was a bit different.

that being said, i always end up cheating! it sucks, because when i try not to i am plunged into negatives no matter how many merchants i send out. by the time americas are unlocked i own most of the map.

i'm getting the expansion at the moment. seems promising. NO CHEATING on this bad boy, for sure.Already got it

no, feudal japan is awesome. besides, you could have your heir be any unit you wanted, not just calvary, it was awesome. And the movies! come on, it was an amazing game (and still is).

meh the Campaign is ok

but I hate the whole Norwegian "Viking" theme,its so inconsistent with Norway at that time,they didn't have round shields with bosses(the bosses disappeared around early-mid 1100),no Huscarls or Viking Raiders, but the most atrocious is the Sami axemen(like wtf?:err: )



both the Scots and Norwegians looked like any other western feudal kingdom at the time

It's good but it's a must to find yourself a mod or two. I use Portucale for the simple reason that it breaks down the Iberian Peninsula in a more realistic fashion.

For certain there was a Regnum Spaniae prior to the Islamic invasion and even following the Islamic invasion the king of León was recognized by all rulers of the territories which were formed as Imperator totius Hispaniae, but it is unrealistic to throw all the kingdoms of Christian Spain into one faction. I understand why they did and also understand that most people don't give a shit about such details with regards to the Spains in specific, but I do and that's why Portucale is a good choice for me.

So yes, find yourself some mods.

Never played anything past Shogun total war, I don;t know why though. Maybe I should pick up Medieval 2.
