Is it just me or has this band been destroyed by there so called 'Fans'. These 10 year olds destroyed what was left of an amazing band. Why do fucking 10 year olds spoil everything :wah:

A new audience doesn't change their music.

True, but it can change who joins the nirvana band wagon.

I don't understand what you're saying. People who would normally like Nirvana's music won't anymore, because whiny 10-year-olds think they're cool by listening to it? A fan base shouldn't affect what YOU think of a band's music and ability.

Nirvana is good. I don't hang out with 10 year olds anyway to know what they like.. if they like the same thing so be it...

I think he is saying, they are making them (and other bands) more mainstream. I understand what he means, I sometimes feel the same way.

Listening to an awesome band that is somewhat underground with a selection of fans has a different vibe than the same band that was mainstream with a million fans. It's hard to explain, you don't want someone to spoil what you discovered.

a fan base shouldnt decide your tastes. nothing pisses me off more than kids who make multiple trips to hot topic and pick up generic shirts like "led zeppelin" and "pink floyd". i fucking love those bands, dont get me wrong, but the shirts and merch is not even real. they dont get that money, some piece of shit company making those shirts in southern korea are getting the money, simply because of the simple concept that retro band shirts are an easy way ot make money.

That's understandable to me.

Really, the kids didn't "ruin" anything: The band is already dead. It's you, Sander, the listener himself who is ruining the experience for yourself.

And it's not Nirvana's fault that the media and radio abuse their music. Shit happens. That's why I usually don't bother listening to radio (or part of the reason, anyway).

Damn. Smells like teen spirit. :lmao:

Hyuck, hyuck, hyuck.

Hmm I know the feeling. I like feeling different and people jumping on the bandwagon cause other people like a band is sickening. I personally have liked different shit just cause that's what I liked but wouldn't you want to share to the whole world that you discovered some really good music that radio is too dumb to play?

Meh, Nirvana has always been the go to band for poseurs. They also were never that good, and I blame Kurt and Kurt only for the dramatic rise in emo since his death. So there.

That's a pretty dumb way of looking at it. He probably didn't even know what emo was. If you're going to do that, why not blame Elvis or The Beatles? If it weren't for them, music might not even be that popular in America. Damn them!

And how can someone be blamed for what happened after their death?

Daucus Karota

probably didn't even know what emo wasthe Emo scene predates Grunge

even though Green River released their first album before the term "emo" was coined

I know that, but it still doesn't mean he knew what it was. Emo was on the other side of the country and wasn't very popular.

What I meant by my statement was that he made being morose and spiteful "in". If you look at him near the end of his life and at many emos now, their styles are nearly identical.

Now I don't completely blame him, I also blame the Cure, the Smiths, etc. But he was essentially the catalyst for all that is emo.

Cobain had a good reason to be "emo." His life was SERIOUSLY fucked up. If I was born into poverty, had divorced parents that didn't want me in their house, started shooting heroin in the seventh grade and being addicted to it my whole life, attempt to molest a retarded girl, and was homeless through most of high school...then yeah, I think I would be emo, too.

Regardless of whether or not Kurt was the inspiration for emo whiners, I seriously don't think he was one. And regardless, it doesn't really matter anymore. He's dead, and with him, so is all of Nirvana. What matters is that the band made good music (which, imo, they did).

And if you're going to blame a band for being a "go to band for posers", there really isn't a band you can't blame (at least one that has a remote chance of attracting a stable following). It's not Nirvana's fault their music is butchered and overplayed.

MTV heavily promotes emo acts. Any trend they promote takes off big time.

Emo is still better than the cancer of commercial hip-hop which mtv also promotes heavily ...this is creating a new generation of brainwashed wigga's.

so saying nirvana is responsible for emo is laughable.
blame the people who promote it.

i know how you feel. today i saw a girl wearing led zeppelin shirt. not like the kind of girl who wears her boyfriends shirt or anything like that, but the kind of girl who wears dark clothing everyday and pretends to be a punk rocker. i couldnt help but think to myself that if i asked her to name just 2 led zep songs, that she couldnt do it.

most of those "fucked up" things were of his own doing, HE tried to molest a retarded girl. HE shot up heroin, and the rest of the people in the world have their fucking problems, cobain just cashed in on being so sad. but i like nirvana, so w/e
