Right now im drivin a 92 318i BMW and I'm sellin it to get a more recent car so I can start racing. I'm really interested in the new celicas because they look sexy as hell i think but they are FWD and arent that fast... I was wonderin what yall thought is a fast stock car that actually looks nice?

Sellin my BMW for $3800 just in case anyone here is interested.

Get a Mustang GT. Fastest car for it's price to my knowledge.

I love mustangs and I would get one but the only thing holding me back is that EVERYONE HAS ONE!!

Waysloppy: I dont really know about any tracks but my friends and I have a few nice and empty streets that are nice for racing though.

Everybody has a V6 Mustang. Not too often that you see a nice GT. Get a black one.

wrx
STI
SRT4 neon
EVO

are the quicker of the new age stock cars out there now.. i'd go with an F-body or mustang if you plain to mod to perfection. Eagle Talons are even easy to squeez hp out of if you can do the work your self and have knowledge.

It also depends on what kinda racing your doing.. if your dong' light to light then get an awd but if your doing from a roll look into a rwd car.

Hell ignore all these ideas...

If you really want to track race seriously buy a Westfeild or Caterham.. Nothing and i mean NOTHING will come close on track performance.
You will be waving good buy to almost everything on the track that mustang will be lapped fuck knows how many times.
On the track they eat Ferraris/vetts/stangs all most anything for breakfast.

4 cylinder n/a 1800cc.
0-60 from 5 - 3.2secs depending on the model.

Cheaper than the Stang depending on the model agian.

The only thing above that is the Ultima Can-am nearly $50,000 but you get 600bhp stock and there is no production car that can touch it. It weighs virtually nothing. Koenigsegg, Mclaren...not a chance.

How is he gonna get his hands on one of those? Especially for the price of a Mustang.

Get a black GT Stang and you'll be happy.

They cost less than a stang and will seriously bury it on a track. Finding a westfeild might be hard, not so much with a carterham.

Deadly serious.

Do you know anything about the car? Me thinks not.

Its built for the track, nothing else really but it is road legal.

Lets go back to school and take a quick look at the R300 Caterham shall we.

1800cc MG Xpower Inline-4 N/A
160Bhp
Weight 500 kg / 1102 lbs
Power/Weight 320.0 bhp per tonne
0-60 = 4.7

These things handle like NOTHING on the planet (in the dry..lol) and would seriously rip a mustang to shreds. The westfeild is even better. All for the same price as the Stang.....Don't tell me the stang can anywhere near the caterham or the westfeild, never mind the Ultima, that doesnt come into this equation, thats way beyond anything you can dream of for track use.

I feel that reptilian_storm's comments on the Canterhams and Westfields track performance is not an exaggeration. A car of such lightweight and low height can and will destroy many bigger, powerful and more expensive cars on the track. However with anything performance orientated there is a compromise that must be made.
Firstly I think ( ) their a 1 seater. And secondly they don’t have a proper roof.
Thirdly theirs no radio, air-conditioning or any comfits altogether, and if you every have to drive a car like that on a freeway or highway during rush hour then you will really have a bad day being unable to see though or over even the smallest compact cars.
Essentially it’s like a street legal go-kart but with emphasis on the word "GO". And it really depends on how important track performance is to you.
(I hope I wasn’t too hard on the Canterhams and Westfields. Sorry if I was) :)

Get a Scion or a Pruis. Or a Honda Civic Hybrid. And don't race on the streets, please. You may die.

And don't breathe too much, you may die. Please, just shut the fuck up.

Don't sell a BMW to get a civic or something stupid like that, get a fox body mustang so at least you will be getting something fast :)

Yea thanks for the advice. And I'm not gonna get a civic hybrid, the whole point in sellin my car is to get a better one... I'm thinkin about gettin the Mustang GT right now since Ive been researchin em and everythin bout em is pretty tight. I also got my eye on the camaro and the firebird but anyone know the stock HP on em?

"And don't race on the streets, please. You may die."
Street racin is the way to go man. Seriously, gives you a nice rush and plus get some easy cash if you good at it. But I am carefull so I wont race in streets full of people.

Yea, I know all the risks involved and if anythin happens at least I actually knew what I was gettin myself into. But to be honest I really wont race that much, just want to intimidate people.

The all new Scion tC. A lot of car for under 20 grand. It's not the fastest thing out there but i think you'd be satisfied with it just the same.

you have to tell us what kind of racing yoru doing? from a roll or from a dig?... if it's striaght line performance your seeking then go with the 87-93 fox bodied stangs.. they are cheap... extremly easy to mod your self, parts can befound anywhere, the aftermarket is huge.. plus chicks dig em  but if your racing from a dig don't forget to pickup some dr's to tam the traction issues you'll have.

Go to:

www.edmunds.com

They have info on a ton of cars. Also, if you're buying a new car, Camaros/Firebirds aren't something you wanna look at, seeing as how they stopped making them in 2002.

Go for the Mustang. My dad has one and I love it. It's plenty fast, and that engine sounds SO sweet.
