A user on the Ars Techica and official Xbox forums noticed major design differences with his new Xbox360, differences that seem to indicate the fabled 65nm chip is now out in the wild. Perhaps this will resolve the overheating issue that has resulted in so many issues over the past couple of years. Combined with HDMI becoming standard on new Premium 360's will this be enough to make you think about upgrading?

New Premiums Get Them. (http://www.msxbox-world.com/xbox360/news/article/6365/65nm-Xbox360)

That's right - at this very moment, you could own an Xbox 360 sporting the much fabled 65nm CPU and GPU. It appears - according to a thread on the official Xbox forums - that Microsoft has, under the guise of the recently released Halo 3 360, soft-launched the 65nm edition of its console.

Every Halo 3 Xbox 360 Has Them. (http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2007/09/microsoft_smuggles_65nm_inside_1.html)

Expect Elite's and Cores to have them aswell, there'll be Forums posting them up sometime, it's unavoidable.

Damn it I hate it when they update shit like that. I've had my 360 premium for a year. I wonder if i could trade in for a new one. Fuck probably not, at least I haven't had any problems with mine.

IDEA!

Make it severely overheat, we all have 3 year warranties, send that 360 back and maybe they'll just send you back a brand new one? If they're making nothing but 65nm and aren't charging more for it I don't see why you wouldn't get one.

yes, easy way to make it overheat: duct tape the entire box so it doesn't get scratched (like the ps3 users do).

I dont give a shit if its 65nm, if the 360 that I'm about to send into them gets RROD again I'm going to tell them to give me an elite or I'll complain to the BBB or something.

Actually, yes, £30 to all SKUs. Not massive but you can get 2 games and a Core for £170 from Argos. It's what I did when I bought my second 360.
