I never in my life thought I would be writing this blurb today. Foot in mouth, and pride in hand. I write this thread for the skeptics, the fanboys, and even the old people out there that have no idea how to use their magic boxes for them games.

Today, I was invited to an import arcade with a couple of friends and played Beatmania and MvC2 for god knows how long. Thiswas the start to an excellent night, which got incresingly more excellent.

I sat down with these fine folks at a video game store, which has plasma screens for rent, and winded up bitching because they all wanted to play Halo 3. As you all very well know, My stance on Halo has been clear for my many years on this forum.

Holy god damn crap and everything that is holy, this game is excellent. It totally surprised me, and everyone playing it, at how fixed and new the multiplayer experience was. While my first love will always be Unreal, Halo 3 is easily a close second now. Even higher on my list than Counter-Strike, my age-old buddy that landed me a seat at the CPL World Finals. It is seriously that much fun with other people.

I have eluded to owning my own X-Box for some time now, and it looks like next week, due solely to Halo and my computer's inability to run Bioshock at 88 FPS (don't ask why), I plan on taking a large monetary hit and bucking up for an X-Box 360 + Halo 3.

Congratulations eBaum's World. Due to a trial by fire, I hereby revoke my inherent hatred towards the Halo series. And while I still avidly dislike Halo 1 and 2, Halo 3 is everything I would ever want in a casual FPS, and will be loved by mefor years to come.

As I write this, even I am amazed by my own complete 180, take it as you will.

Yes, but this thread is about ignorance at its core. There may be some people that genuinely don't enjoy Halo 3, but I let my blind rage of the prior 2 games blind my judgement of the third installment. Something I, stupidly, did not do with Doom 3 and Quake 4, which both sucked, and I pimped due to the awesomeness of previous titles.

I still have yet to play Halo 3 and have had no interest in doing so. Thought the first two were trash.

I'm waiting for my copy of Halo 3 in the mail, but I won the opportunity to play the beta and I can't even count how many hours I spent playing those three maps over and over and over again. The online multiplayer was just amazing. They got the formula perfect for it and that was just the beta.

I'm pissed though because now I'm in college and am unable to connect to Xbox live. It has seriously put a damper on a lot of video games I own because they're aren't as fun by yourself. Hopefully the singe player on Halo delivers as much joy as the multiplayer brought me.

For me, the beta was not very enjoyable. Now with all the features/weapons/items/vehicles they added, the game is 20 times more enjoyable.

rarely has a game come that has made me RESUME my old habits of 12+ hours of video games. i even had twilight princess over the summer, but i didnt even play that obsessively (and i am a HUGE zelda fanboy). i give respect to the thread starter, hopefully others iwll open their eyes to halo and let it in their hearts. halo 3 IS fucking good, you can say what you want about 1, 2 you have the right to, but insulting 3 without any further reason is just plain obnoxious.

EDIT:I was playing the campaign about an hour ago. and one NON-flood level had me standing on my bed for about half an hour. ill say this much:it involves multiple scarabs.
