Live has sucked ass for years now and it's not getting any better from what I saw out of the demo they released for the 360. It's way to "arcade-y" feeling and the players move around the court like they're on ice. I guess if you're into that kinda thing, more power to ya. Also, the player ratings are fucked to hell on Live. Sure you can fix those by editing their stats, but it'll take forever considering how many are completely off. Plus, you shouldn't have to do that in a brand new game. The ratings should at least somewhat reflect reality, which they clearly DON'T in Live.
Myself, I'll be gladly be buying the more realistic (both in gameplay and in player ratings) basketball game, NBA 2K8.
Seriously though, have fun throwing away 60 bucks on Live.

I honestly have no idea why people would buy Live for NBA purposes. I'm not trying to be a 2K lover, but Live this year looks, and plays, like shit again. They always say they're fixing the game from the ground up, and next year the game still sucks.
Besides, the gameplay in 2K is always unmatched.
Edit: Although I do have beef with 2K putting the Mavs rating at 76. The fucking Lakers are rated higher than them. How could this be? They were unmatched last year, and their roster is relatively the same this year. Is it because they lost against the one team that can truly beat them? Fucking 2K...
2nd edit:Here are team ratings:
1. Suns: 93
2. Spurs: 92
3. Celtics: 87
4. Bulls: 85
5. Jazz: 84
6. Pistons: 83
7. Rockets: 82
8. Nuggets: 81
9. Lakers: 77
10. Heat: 76
11. Mavericks: 76
12. Nets: 75
13. Raptors: 75
14. Clippers: 75
15. Grizzlies: 74
16. Warriors: 74
17. Bobcats: 74
18. Cavs: 73
19. Hornets: 72
20. Wizards: 72
21. Pacers: 72
22. Magic: 71
23. Hawks: 70
24. T-Wolves: 70
25. Kings: 69
26. 76ers: 66
27. Blazers: 65
28. Bucks: 64
29. Sonics: 62
30. Knicks: 62
First off, the Celtics have the 3rd best rating?. What the fuck? The Bulls are hugely overrated, the Mavs are 9-11 spots lower then they should be, and the Lakers are on the top 10. I like the game but who made these ratings? Did they bother to research the players and teams before they actually put this into the game.

But yeah, usually I get Live and I probably will this year too. I have both NBA 07 and NBA 2K7 for Ps3 and the only thing that I didn't really like was the fact that you couldn't do cross overs or dribble between your legs. That made it hard to get passed defenders imo

NBA Live, because I tried all the demos and it plays the best to me. There was a lot of really good reviews of 2k7 last year so I tried that series out and it just doesn't play as smoothly.

Wow. Ranked top 100 in '06 and '07? Those were probably the worst b-ball games ever created. All you do is hit that superstar shit in '06 and its an automatic 2 points. I'm surprised that you are proudly proclaiming this.
After playing the demo, its 2k all the way. I have 2k7 on the 360, amazing b-ball game. They have vastly improved on player models and movements, and the gameplay is just fun. There is a video of Live's "Go To moves" floating around somewhere on the intarw3bz.... And guess what? THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. Literally, most of them have the same animation too. What a joke.

The sad thing is a lot of people are going to buy Live regardless because of its past rep, in turn, passing on a truly great basketball game(2K8).
