Have any of you played it? I just finished it and it's a masterpiece, I've never had a game actually affect me, it totally toyed with my emotions. I've spent a good portion of my life with the Half life series, I've grown so accustomed to so many of the characters. I actually feel like I'm apart of the resistance.

I have to say HL2:EP2 REVOLUTIONIZED game drama, I have never participated in a game with such great voice acting and character emotion.

The feeling of urgency was there, when Alyx was stabbed by the hunter my jaw just dropped, I really enjoyed having her tag along and I just wanted to get up and rip that fuckers face off for harming her. To the Vortigaunts showing such care and devotion for Alyx and the resistance.

I am going to look at the ending of HL2:EP2's ending as the grand daddy of all drama in games. It was so realistic, Eli telling Alyx to close her eyes as the Advisor sucked his brains out, DOG attempting to save all of us, Alyx's crying just said the mood for EP3. It will involve a long painful death of every Advisor found.

That's the ending if anyone wants to check it out, though I doubt you'll have the same feeling if you haven't played the series and really enjoyed it.

But the game was just so short, I was only getting started when it ended. I just knew the second he died that it was too dramatic for the game to continue without it being another episode. That's the only real disappointment I have with it, they fit so much into the game so well but it just was too short.

They say the game, walking wise, is as large as HL2. It took me over 10 hours to beat HL2 the first time, mainly because I really dilly daddled. It took me 4 1/2 hours to beat EP2 with dilly daddling, they said 6-8 which is just a lie.

I agree on the shortness, but the storyline is the best one to date IMO. I loved the game, the ending was a shock though.

The parallax oclusion mapping in the Bug Tunnels is amazing.

Wow someone that was touched by this game like me! Finally i am not alone, so far I've beaten this game 4 times and about to do the gnome achievement. My jaw dropped when Eli got stabbed by the advisor and i for some reason shouted out NO! when Alyx got stabbed. This game messed with my emotions.

I'm depressed we're going have to wait until Q4 08 to Q1-3 09(estimates I've seen) for another 4 hour game.

I know man I wish they could make it longer like Half-Life 2 (10+) but right now I could have any information on what is going to happen next. Only way to get it off my mine is to play Team Fortress 2 :(

well it's either that or wait 6 years for half-life 3... no thanks
they chose this format so they could release the game in chapters rather than a six year wait, as it technically should have been half-life 3: ep 1 & 2
i guess you could wait for the last episode and play it all at once rather than play it now?

I wish I didn't read the spoiler for Alyx in PC Gamer. Man, that pissed me off because it's such an unpredictable event that got spoiled and seemed like a given. As for Eli, I don't know if it was his death or the fact that I knew I wasn't going to get on the helicopter and keep playing that depressed me more.

Anyway, it is definitely the most emotionally powerful game I've ever played.

I agree completely, it's a good move by Valve. But any wait after an ending like that is so hard

I wonder what they're going to do after EP3, they already stated that Valve will only go to EP3 and anymore episodes will be from a 3rd party. To my knowledge EP3 isn't suppose to end the game, and there isn't much posted on Steampowered forums about what Valve is going to do after EP3. Perhaps an actual HL3? I was reading on a game site last night that we're getting episodes to keep us entertained while HL3 is being developed. I wonder the validity behind that.

TF2 is exactly what I'm doing, I'm having a lot of fun with the scout.

Where the hell was Barney? I was waiting for him to somehow save my ass in a sticky situation, or throw me a crow bar.

Yeah EP2 rocked, short but sweet.
