my friend has an 02 a4, and has no problems with it. my mom just got a 98 a6 at a car auction with a leaky heater core...for like 2400... aside form that it runs perfectly. i have a 97 a6 no problems...my sister has a 94 100..my dad a 92 100... basically... we're an audi fan family, and we have no problems with any of them. maybe your girlfriend just got unlucky...or she beats the car?

I've got an 02 A4 that just turned 100k and I have not had many problems with is so far. (I've driven it just under 30k miles since I have gotten it.

yeah with audi's if you take care of it really well, you wont have many issues at all, if you just dont take care of it and fuck it up, its gonna have problems and cost alot more overall. this is what i learned from owning a b5 s4 which is probably one of the most unreliable audis made.
you have to be very willing to spend money on it before anything is wrong.

I am sorry but is this not the case with all cars?

uh, no. many cars are a bit forgiving when it comes to maintenance and you don't have to fix shit before it goes wrong. My mazda went for 8 years without proper servicing, never faltered.
Audi's are like rotaries without the bonus of actually having a rotary
