im not bashing 360 what so ever, im just giving you my experience with the box. It basically ruined my madden 07' game the 2nd day of playing it, "ring of death." I got the blue screen for no damn reason, didnt even use the box that much. The disc tray kept getting stuck, and i know u might be saying, just tap it, no my man, it gets really annoying. It is louder than a jet engine. When your playing a loud game it aint bad, but when it goes to a cut scene, it sounds horrid. You have to buy the hd dvd separate. Although that is a choice, and granted that is a good concept, why not get a cheap ass blu-ray player, plus a good gaming system. To sum it up, i sold the box to my friend, he was yelling at me, cuz the disc tray was fucked, but he actually fucked it even worse. I bought the 20g ps3 for 500, and it has never failed me, and it is quiet as hell, plus there is a freakin blu-ray player in it! Did i mention that the games in the future will have too much info for the 360 garbage discs to handle. The frame rates will be a huge difference between blu-ray and the 360's discs in the future, trust me. Overall get the ps3.

i'm not gettin back at you or anything, just giving you my viewpoint. Do you know how annoying it is to have to tap the disc tray a million times before it opens. I used to have a technique, and i would wuickly tap it, and it would open, but then it got down right annoying, the disc tray would open, then close really quickly, and i didnt want to force it open either. The noise that the 360 made is so damn annoying when your watching a movie, and it randomly does that airing out noise. Not to mention the ring of death. Also the blue screen whenever i would play saints row, and that game was in perfect condition. The controller sometimes would do that wierd flashing theing where u cant use it for a couple seconds in the middle of a game, while fully charged. I can go on and on. My friend got so frustrated with it, that his dumbass took it apart and tried fixing it, but took th microsoft sticker off one of the parts, so now he can't send it in for a free fix up. Too many glitches too, whereas the ps3, just put it in and play. Also to reiterate, the noise is damnnnnnn annoying on the box.

Each system is going to produce games. But to speculate on the quality of those games at this point is fucking stupid. To claim that the PS3 is somehow better than the 360 because the games that come out in the future might be good is just ignorant. To think that somehow the PS3 is going to catch or pass the 360 in aspects of quality games is also extremely off base.

I had my PS3 on component cables at first to my 53" sharpe aquos TV. It was nice looking. I got an HDMI cable and replaced the other cables, picture is a bit better over all. I think, and again I THINK, the HDMI were sheilded from electromagnetic interferenece.

I agree...the difference between component and HDMI is very slight, hardly noticeable to the naked eye. I wouldn't argue if someone said it was nice to have HDMI support...but to say anything other than HDMI is useless is just idiotic. Only if you own a 1080p television is it probably even noticeable, and even then, one could argue that even owning a 1080p television is far more useless than running a console through component cables.

One big reason for me is that I'm able to hook it up to my monitor. Another reason that's big for some people is it supports 7.1 channel sound. Lastly, it's a digital signal.

Oh and referring to the Xbox 360, the one's with HDMI (as far as I know) have the heatsink on the gfx card (RROD PROBLEM).

You make it sound like the 360 is inferior, but things like the HD-DVD Add-On, the fact you can get a $15 Wireless Adapter to go wireless and such can be bought whenever you want it, and it still works out cheaper than buying a PS3.

Anyway OP, it's still pretty obvious which you should get. The Xbox 360, it's cheap and has games, the only thing that matters, the amazing online service, continuous free content, the huge support, achievements, unified friends lists, gamertags, cross PC play and the like are just great bonuses.

And more than likely the 360's releases will still own te hell out of the ps3 at that time because FF is way overdone; never liked Gran turismo and metal gear is a good game but I still wouldn't buy a ps3 just for one game.

In fact, a simple Google search of "[console name] problems" will turn up that every console has it's share of issues, so stop acting like yours is the only one that doesn't.

Who can blame them? When someone drops that much loot on a system they usually are in denial that they made a bad choice. It's kind of sad that some of these people might not realize their mistake until 2010 when they finally buy a used 360 on ebay just to see what all the fuss is about.

The same thing happened 10 years ago with the ps1 vs. the sega saturn. The Saturn was a bit more expensive with much fewer games. My opinion:
If you have the money, I suggest buying a 360 and a Wii. The Wii has some of the best games, and more coming, and the motion control is awesome. only downside is that the lasting appeal to play them isnt really there. The 360 has a huge library of great games, and xbox live will keep you playing for a long time. this is basically how I use them: Wii when I play with friends (anyone can play) or play Nintendo's stellar game releases, and Xbox 360 when I game alone or online. plus combined they're still cheaper than the PS3.

I finally got a chance to sit down and play all three consoles at the same time (my rich ass friend has all of them.) I'm going to be the first to admit I was overcritical of the PS3 - it IS fun. Warhawk is a fucking blast. Heavenly Sword is pretty awesome. As far as the graphics go, as much as it pains me to say this, they are better than Gears of War. I didn't really care too much for R&C but there you go.

All I'm going to say ATM is what the PS3 can do right now to try and pull ahead. Now I like the PS3, but whether you love it or not, just please admit it - it's losing. Please, stop trying to fool yourselves.

The first thing that comes to mind are games. Sony is mostly interested in improving the PS3's already amazing technology. And that's where they're going wrong. As far as technology goes, the PS3 is set for almost a decade. It is so far ahead of it's time. But Sony is trying to fix what was never broken and is breaking what already worked - namingly, everything except the hardware.

Let's say I dont own any next gen console but I want GTA4 really bad. I'm going to get it for the 360, not because it's better, but because it costs less and the game stays the same. And that's what else Sony can do to get out of this rut: get less annoying fanboys. I'll also admit that there are a LOT MORE GAMES for the 360. But finally I'll admit that I like the PS3 better. Not because I want to justify my purchase but beecause of the reasons I listed a few posts before. I am not trying to be a fanboy here but let me just point out a few things you said since people like to do the same in their favor when I make posts.

1. The PS3 is currently listed as $499 for the 80GB version. So you're wrong about it being $600. I purchased mine for $499 (The 60GB right when the price dropped because I wanted hardware backwards compatibility).
2. And if you want to say "Oh well you're gonna end up spending $600 to add controllers and all the mumbojumbo." Well I'll just have to say that's about even more true on the 360 where you have to pay for ONLINE and WIRELESS ADAPTORS. I'll be honest I don't even use the wireless add-on to my PS3, but it's nice to have.

Sorry if that sounded liek I'm a fanboy but i HONESTLY don't try to be. To be honest again, I haven't played my PS3 in about 3 weeks because I've been playing the Crysis MP beta for about 40 hours total so far. Yeah and I probably won't be playing my PS3 for the next few months because of Crysis. It's a good thing, though, because the only game I'm looking forward to (that's coming out SOON) is NFS Pro Street.

The only people that are buying PS3's over 360's are either gay for Sony or hate Microsoft for lame completely made-up unintelligent bias reasons, they don't even care which system has the better games or better set-up it's all about living a lifestyle that includes shitty games with homo erotic characters, commercials with horrible nu-metal music, and lots of unfulfilled hype (1080p, Blu-ray, MGS4, literally every game to come out thus far).

everyone says 360s are extremely loud but mine makes barely any noise if ANY at all. i got it in the summer of this year so maybe because i got a later version or something its quieter? all my friends that have 360s i havent noticed them being loud even though i havent purposely tried to hear if it was or not ive never noticed. and 360 has better games so id sey get that

LOL!!!! oh no 2 disc games !!! what shall we ever do ?!?! shame that PS3 doesnt even rly have a game worth buying on one disc. I've played the PS3 and quite a few games, my 360 games are better, im no fan boy but buying a 360 is easily the better choice, i think only the people who wasted there money on just a PS3 are trying to justify there purchase, and failing, miserably.

Oh yeah Xbox Live is hardly something negative just because you have to pay for it, i got a years subscription for about £20 which is probably about $40, that is nothing rly considering the brilliant service you get.

I would only get a PS3 if alot more games i liked came out for it and perhaps improved there pretty much non-existant online service, id rather pay for something good than settle for something nasty.

Anyone here will tell you that I am also primarily a PC gamer, and although I don't find Crysis all that spectacular, I also DO NOT own an X-box 360. So I don't know where that riposte came from.

I had the money and wanted a console so I said "Hey what do I want" I chose a PS3 because of the extremely long list of reasons I listed before. Also because for the games that have come out of the 360 all of which that I like I could own for the PS3 (IE: NBA Live 08) I wouldn't have played Halo 3 or COD4 because I HAVE A PC THAT CAN DO THAT BETTER.

i own both. i like both. ps3 (for me) has a better setup, plus i get that blu-ray action :D

but, you have to consider that xbox has a year head start over ps3 and a lot of great games are coming out for both.

i dont play favorites but the ps3 is not the piece of garbage these microsoft fanboys wish it was.

COD4 thats a ps3 purchase i chose over 360. same game, playstation offered it for free online.

and not to mention Uncharted ps3 exclusive that freakin rocked, was a blast to play.

people talk about ps3's online being a piece of junk, but i can tell from first hand experience its not-its just as good as any PC game or 360. you find a server and play the game. of course its only going to get better with HOME.

360 right now only has the amount and quality of games going for it. ps3 beats it in every other way.
