For the last few weeks this site has been EXTREMELY slow for me and I don't know why. My computer can load every other site perfectly fine and fast, and I play wow and CSS fine with no lag.

I've always watched the clips on here but lately I can't even get one of them to load, it takes about 10 minutes to load a 1 minute clip.

Anyone have any idea what its running so damn slow?

It's not just you, it's the site.
There was a sticky thread about how they were trying to get with VBulletin or something like that, I don't recall. Basically saying they're working on it. I'm guessing they changed their mind.

Out of all the sites I go to, this one is definitely, by far, the slowest. That is, when it's even working in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I do like ebaumsworld and don't plan on going anywhere but well...the truth is the truth.

The site actually has been running good for the past few days. Maybe they fixed the problems.

That could explain why the thread I mentioned went away. I haven't been on much the last few days so we'll see. I haven't had a problem so far so fingers crossed. If so, yay...

My personal experience is that ebum & co don't really care about how the site functions, as long as the money keeps coming in. My prediction is that they will start caring after many people leave, and the money stops.

However, human nature is such that people won't leave until it gets really, really bad, or something much, much better comes along. If that happens, it will be too late for them to save their dying cash-cow, which is why many successful companies take a proactive stance toward the quality of their product. ebumsworld is not one of these.

But notice that I am still here, despite experiencing problems with the site, and a lack of quality among the material. Some people say "Quit complaining, if you don't like it then leave." But they are missing the point. A company, if it is to last, should pay attention to complaints, and work to fix them. ebum doesn't do this, and so his cash-cow will eventually die.

The forum was having a problem last month with extreme lagging because of the database and server, but we have gotten all of that fixed since. Perhaps your computer might have spyware.

Hey Caveman,
Just within the last week when I have been here in the Forums my page freezers and I click refresh and then I get Data Base Error and can't get back on for ages....
So I am guessing it is not a problem created from my end but Ebaums...correct?

A "database error" is a problem with the forums, not anything on or caused by your computer.

Does anyone else get a database error whenever they try to make a new thread? This error has been plaguing me for a while now.

Yeah, that happened to me yesterday. Then the site went down completely. It's getting old ebaums. Fix the problem already.

The forum is back up and those problems have been resolved. Sorry for your troubles.

I don't think Jack would be as forgiving as we are.
