It looks as if it was made by a humanist director. Why do they need to stick in any humans in what is meant to be a battle between a species that has adapted well and one that has adapted to use tools well.

I also never truly understood this concept.

Rarely do you ever see a movie featuring two iconic species without humans being involved. Certainly making a film featuring the two (Aliens and Predators) will result in a significant financial increase. However, both races can--and have been--played by humans in costumes in the past, so there is no clear need for CGI other than intense action sequences.

And I suppose since the directors realize most fans are rooting for one or the other, they don't want to see either race gaining the upper hand (and as in the original AVP, a human 'won' the battle, almost as if its subliminally trying to inform us that the human race will always prevail).

Damn Hollywood.
