Seems like talk of this game has really died down.
Seeing as how Killzone 1 was a failure due to the
primitive hardware of the PS2, I really think (judging
by gameplay vids I've seen) that this could be on of the
most visceral, realistic game experiences evar.
The blood and character animaton graphics make
me sweaty and ready . . .

killzone 1 just sucked ass. graphics werent the problem. ive played games with gawdawful graphics that were more rewarding than killzone. i rented it and took it back to the store askin if i could get somethin else the same night. unless if killzone offers some breakthrough brand spanking new concepts when they ever decide to finish it then i MIGHT consider a rental. even then its unlikely

Killzone 1 plays perfectly fine, the PS2 just crippled the concept of the game.

Meh, my only gripe with the first Killzone was not being able to ride vehicles. Other than that it was a decent shootan.

Judging by what I've seen so far, I want this; the animations make me horny...

I rented the game and thought it was a decent game. Its weird how everyone rips on it when there are far worse shooters out there.

Some people ripped on it because Sony fans kept using the game as a reason why the PS3 was better than the 360. Others, myself included, were tired of all the threads about this game that started after E3 even though there were 0 threads about all the other great games coming out this year.
I say, if you like the game, go for it. Fuck what everyone else says. Just don't make 5 threads a day about it.

I'm glad someone else thinks so. Ironically enough it got a higher scored review. I actually liked the first one but the PSP one was so awful I got to chapter four and just couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Really?
I enjoyed Killzone Liberation quite a bit.
Sure, it wasn't an FPS, but it was pretty fun, IMO.

The recently released batch of screenshots from the PS3-exclusive Killzone 2 were, as it happens, "only the tiniest bit touched up" says Seb Downie, QA manager at Guerrilla. This comes from a post on the official PlayStation forum.
Downie also goes on to admit "They are only the tiniest bit touched up. Short answer is yes. Long answer is that there was a little bit of colour-correction done and some minor polish, but nothing major. Still very close to reality and it looks better in motion in my opinion."
However, these side by side comparisons suggests some serious tweaking - the freshly released screenshots hardly seem "the tiniest bit touched up." The comparison shows differences between the Leipzig Games Convention trailer and new screenshots (thanks, Kotaku).
While such stunts were certainly pulled off many times before by publishers and developers, it really looks as though Sony and Guerilla went a wee bit too far. In any case, we'll see how things shape up from here on. The game hits stores next year.

It looks far less impressive after playing Crysis, but still impressive. I'll give it a whirl when it comes out.
