For anyone that cares I found this interesting.

Also use the code RE-XMA-SAA to get an additional $5.00 off.
Note these won't be available in NA until spring and the white one may never be. They are region free btw.
Uncharted, Burnout Demo, Pain, Motorstorm, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank support it so far.
I plan to get the white one even though it doesn't match. I'm not trying to spam, just thought I'd let people know.
Thanks to WongB and ToyHammer.

These new controllers don't have the 6-axis motion sensing built in. Developers will have to choose between motion sensing and rumble, but I imagine it'll be rumble because it's much easier to program for (probably 1 line of code) as opposed to rewriting your entire control scheme to support motion sensing (which most people would turn off anyway given the choice).
I'm certain Sony will very quietly kill off the 6-axis controller in favour of the more popular dualshock3.
As for $60 for a controller... that's how much a 6-axis sells for in Canada =(

It appears you're right. Anyway, even more reason to phase out the regular 6-axis.

What's wrong with the six-axis?

What's wrong with the six-axis?
Nobody will want the vanilla 6-axis version anymore.

you're an idiot.
When developers actually use the sixaxis it will prove to be useful.

Six-axis looks pretty useful, in games with jets and planes... Warhawk looks like it will use it a decent amount.

It's been a year now, and I can probably count the number of PS3 games that fully utilize sixaxis to its full extent with my fingers.
And I'm not talking about games that merely require you to shake the controller once very blue moon.

I don't really get whats sooo awesome about rumble. I mean if one of my sixaxis controllers break I'll prolly get a DS3, but it really doesn't add that much gameplay value, but I'm glad they decided to use both motion sensing and rumble though, because the motion sensing adds a physical factor to otherwise entirely virtual games. Case in point: Folklore and Uncharted. In Folklore when you take the folks spirit, you yank back with the controller and it just feels better than pushing a button or analog stick, and in Uncharted when you walk across a thin plank or log you actually have to balance out the controller to make the moment more tense. Now,the point of Sixaxis is not to make the PS3 a motion based console like the wii, it's to make moments of the game better and more real, and to me it's doing it's job very well.
