So I thought this was just some gay 'will it run on vista pc' crap, fair enough some tards need help with that, untill i saw the 'Live' part ...

Seriously ... what and where did this travesty of an idea come from and why the fuck has it happened? Pretty much every PC game (excluding MMO’s which require massive unified servers) have had zero secondary fee’s. Once you bought the game that was it ... you had it you didn’t need to shell out any more money for what you already brought. If there was multiplayer available the game developers would release dedicated server software, they would put their own servers up, and rent out other servers etc etc

Now what is this ‘Games for Windows – Live’ shit? What the fuck do Microsoft think they are doing to PC gaming? Do they want to kick gamers in the balls with their bullshit XBL fee system? Do they think PC gamers are stealing money off them? Do they just want to fuck people over for supporting Linux and other open source software?

I don’t usually like to think of a company been run by a bunch of asshole executives in a board room. However with this entire service it seems that a bunch of fat fucks at Microsoft were sat around thinking how to fuck their customers over yet again, then I can just picture one particularly fat fuck shouts out “hey! You know how we rip our Xbox users off to play online?” then all the other fat fucks stop their bitching and sweating and look up while fatty continues “there’s lots of people playing games for free on PC’s ... why don’t we fuck them over as well?” then they all started to laugh and sweat again while ordering their peons to make it so.

Ok fair enough console tards might need a hand to get an online multiplayer game running, so it’s a bitch that Microsoft charge them. However to walk head first into a entire community, industry and world that was growing and running brilliant and to tell them they’re going to stick their shitty logos on everything and then charge us to do exactly what we were doing before.

Don't buy the games that support this shit Live platform.

I think you have the wrong idea.

Even with a "silver" membership you can still play online for free. In fact, paying only offers these additional features

All Silver membership features
Multiplayer matchmaking with friends
TruSkill matchmaking
Multiplayer achievements
Cross-platform gameplay

If you already have xbox live, this service doesn't cost anything. So it's actually kind of a sweet deal, I hope more games support it.

And just as a sidenote, paying for xbox live is not a rip off at all.

PSN really isn't as bad as the xbots say it is.You think that just because you pay for XBL,it's the best service ever.

Yay! Propaganda!

Random your argument is mute. This only affects "games for windows" and also you can still play multiplayer for free. Nothing will change except you get to have a FREE single gamer profile that is used on other "games for windows" games.

Ya, Games For Windows Live kinda sucks. I got Gears of War for my PC and I thought it was kinda cool how you get a gamertag and achievements, until I started up gears and all my save data and achievements were just gone. Fuck Microsoft!

You only pay for "Games for Windows Live" when you wanna play console users.

Shadowrun for example. Playing them online is free.

No one says it's awful, everyone just says XBL is better, which in my opinion, is.

Welcome to 2005! It's not news, and like people have said before me, you don't have to pay for live for Windows, and the only real benefit you get is to be able to play Xbox360 gamers. It's just a side effect of XNA which takes all the good console games that would have otherwise been console only, and let the publishers see the divine PC side of gaming.

I for one am glad that Microsoft made it possible for good games to come to PC, and possible for me to play games against people that can't have a keyboard and mouse.

I'm not attacking the 'games for windows' policy where games are tested and run through compatiblity tests for PC's.

I'm talking about the actual service where to play this game online, you must have a live account and you must pay for that account.

I had no problem while Microsoft was just helping developers be compatible, however I've only just realised after reading a Kane and Lynch review that to play online you gotta have one of these accounts, you have to pay apparently and you don't even get dedicated servers.

Since when have you had to pay to play via a server on your own pc?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY! Silver comes automatically, jesus. Also if you go for the paid service you don't get anything that will put you above someone else in the game. This service also covers all games. Read about it first before you make such accusations. This is probably one of the most ignorant posts I've seen in a long while.

EDIT: Lol customer, I never saw your post :(

well honestly it's just getting irritating now, this is probably the 4th or 5th time in this thread that it's been mentioned that he doesn't have to pay anything. yet the guy keeps saying it costs money. i dont get it.
