The HDMI will definately look the best, but won't be all that horribly better than the stock component (the red, green, blue cables) option. Really it just depends on how much you're into getting the best picture possible.
The big problem with that TV is it has an 8ms response time. That means while you're playing games you'll have an annoying "ghosting" effect where it takes a very short time to change images between frames. 8ms doesn't sound that long, but with video games being fast-paced, it gets really annoying. I've tried playing my 360 on an 46" HDTV with an 8ms response time and it was just too annoying to try and play Halo 3. But you might get used to it, or it just might not bother you that much to begin with. Just something to keep in mind.
Edit: Plus, like ocpunk said, since that's a 720p TV and the component on the xbox puts out 720, it won't matter. The TV would have to downscale the image anyways, which may make it look worse even.

nice tv. And yes, hdmi is always better than component. But does your 360 have a hdmi connection? *aka elite/black xbox360*
also, if it doesnt look better, just return it.

Is that slow response time because the tv that i picked out is not the nicest tv, or is it just a problem with all HDTV's
OcPunk have you had problems withthis?

ok
HDMI isnt going to look any better
The general rule is 8ms and under is fine, not 8ms and over
ALL new Xbox 360's have HDMI, including the new core system
And if you are going to get a tv, dont get the cheapest you can find, there is more to a tv than just resoution.

Nah, it's about the usual response time on TV's for some reason. Haven't seen a whole lot of actual TV's that have a really fast response time. The TV that I had the problem with was a Sony Bravia XBR4, which is a really nice, expensive TV. That made me decide to find the fastest LCD for my computer I could find when I upgraded, so I found a 2ms one and I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

uhhhh how is a westinghouse a nice tv?
If you are gonna buy a new tv, please at least buy a nice tv, if you are willing to spend 600, wait an extra month and save for the 1000 dollar 32 inch tvs.

VGA looks pretty good too (and is cheaper), and that TV has a VGA port.

The difference is big enough to dish out the couple hundred dollars.

If you want HDMI then I suggest you just buy a cheap cable from eBay or Amazon, at least for now. I bought one for .01 cents with $4 shipping from eBay and it's perfect.
HDMI is digital and it still is susceptible to interference but it is also automatically corrected for you through error checking. A good quality cable (not necessarily expensive) can give you a very slight improvement in quality vs a cheap HDMI cable but it's not really noticeable.
In my opinion, a cheap HDMI cable looks WAY better than cheap component cable. I actually made my own component cables from shitty wires and it still looked really good but, once I hooked up my cheap HDMI cable, the picture improved significantly.
Ghosting can be annoying but 8 ms shouldn't be bad. Eventually you will get used to it... if you even notice it. Most people I know can never see it unless I point it out and then they get pissed off at me b/c they always notice it from then on.

Well last year i bought a digistar, chinese walmart brand tv, and the picture looked and still looks better than some lg lcd tvs, especially at the time. After doing some research, i found out that the company, makes the lcds for sony, lg and fuji, and was the number one seller in china.
Same shit different label, havent we been through this with clothes already? SAME GOD DAM THING!

this would void your warranty?

Why would using a cable void your warranty?

They have HDMI now, but they didn't even for a long time after launch. Mine doesn't have it.
Why would using a cable void your warranty?
I read that using a product with the Xbox thats not licensed by Microsoft voids you warranty.

I don't think they would void your warranty for something like that. It probably applies mostly to installing modchips or something in it.

Honestly, your eyes can't really tell the difference between component and HDMI.
However, HDMI does provide 8 channel sound (don't quote me on that, but it's more than 2 lol) and component you only get 2.
Buy an HDMI cable from www.newegg.com for like $8, trust me it's just easier than having to plug in 5 cables.
Also make sure your Xbox has hdmi out before you do that.
