The Simpsons game is pretty good. My lady was kind enough to rent this game for me the other night. Here's my review.

Description: You're basically playing Grand Theft Auto in the Simpsons world, however you can't kill anyone or steal any cars. Each Simpsons character has his/her own powers. Homer's is hilarious, Marge's is actually really cool. Bart's is probably the most handy, and Lisa's is just ok, but she makes up for it by her other (thinking) powers. They even poke fun at the game too, as if they're acknowledging that the Simpsons game is a spin-off.

Pros:

Great single or two player game
Verticle views on a big screen are tolerable for 2 player
Tons of items to collect
Great problem solvers really make you think and use your head at times
The game ties seamlessly with the cinemas somehow despite it changing from 3d to 2d
Everything is there from the original Simpsons tv show
Powerups and bonuses can enhance and help the way your character progressed through the levels.
A city map and bus stations allow you to travel effortlessly throughout the city
Some scenes and parts in the game are just hilarious
Smooth, clean graphics make you feel like you're part of the cartoon

Cons:

Some of the 3d animated scenes are weak. There's a logger scene that was just terribly drawn. An epileptic child could have done better
If you're up late and just in a mood to plow through shit, this isn't the game for you. You've gotta be wide awake and constantly thinking to try to figure out where the hell you've gotta go and how to get there.
There's so much shit that you can easily spend more time trying to collect fucking beercaps and bonuses than playing the actual game.
I wish there was more cool stuff you could do in the city and interact with it more in negative ways (ie hookers in GTA) but obviously this game is geared towards children and family play.

Overall I found the game enjoyable. I wouldn't mind receiving the game as a gift or renting it again to play with my buddies, but I wouldn't go out and buy it on my own. I am a simpsons fan, but not that much. The comedic value of the game is up there, perhaps even above the actual show's. It had my buddy and I laughing several times. Good game.

Respectedsheep.

Yeah I forgot to mention that. A couple of times I thought I was going to fucking throw my tv out the window for some of those camera moments. CHRIST that was annoying. I died like 14x in a row because I couldn't get the camera to move and acknowledge that I could grabble a hook with bartman (AS I HAD been doing previously).
