View Full Version : 2007 Bowl Season: The Thread!

The 2007 NCAA football season has been arguably the most dramatic, unexpected, and entertaining season in history...

And has most definitely been the most ridiculous scrambling in the BCS's short reign...

Judging by last night's 35-32 slugfest between Utah and Navy, bowl season is looking to be no different...

Because I'm sure there will be comments about the upcoming games, I figured why not centralize all of them into one thread...So here it is...

Feel free to post any and all comments pertaining to college football...

Oh yea...and...

Sconsin sucked that game away...Brett Bielema let that terrible call kill them on 4th and 1 with 8 to go...

Michigan should be whoopin' Florida...tie game right now (should be up 2 touchdowns if Mike Hart wasn't such a cocky s.o.b)

I swear he is the most arrogant football player I have ever seen...ever...

He's gonna get some teeth knocked in when he faces some REAL LB's in the pros...

Just look at what the likes of A.J Hawk, Bobby Carpenter, and James Lauranitis did to him in the Ohio State games only...

The SEC has been sloppy...though they haven't lost yet..."dat SEC speed" certainly hasn't been prevalent in the wins...just noticeable in the "sneak bys"

Do you really think you are going to start some revolution on this board with this stupid shit you say. Nobody gives a fuck what you think. You try to post this same crap in damn near every thread about football, or just about any other place you can find a place for it, regardless of whether or not it goes along with the topic. So please, do everyone a favor and just shut the hell up, you, and you alone are making all hockey fans look like a bunch of fucking morons, who cant seem to grasp reality.

Actually, i never posted bad about football(unless i had to defend my sports from some idiot starting shit)) and this is probably the 2nd football topic i ever entered ever on this site. I only posted this because I'M SICK of seeing dumb football idiots talk shit about hockey in OUR topics or in topics that have nothing to do with it, so i figured this was a good oppurtunity to say how i feel about football.

And i will continue to poke my head in and say how much the sport sucks if i keep seeing some dumb redneck try to talk shit about a sport he knows nothing about. And i do know all about football, and it's still a terrible sport.:dunce: Basically, any sport that combines the grit of Rugby and soccer terms is retarded.

It's good to see that Adrian Arrington had a big day for Michigan because he went to the same high school as I do. I think he had like 9 catches for 153 yds and 2 td's.

The man's a beast...for sure...

It's rare occasions like those when I can enjoy a great performance by a great player on a M*ch*g*n team...

That one handed catch he made late in the game was incredible...

Michigan seems to recruit great WR's...

Wish they'd slip down to Columbus sometimes...

Waxed is what UGA did to Hawaii...

Waxed is what Mizzou did to Arkansas

Waxed is what USC did to Illinois

Waxed is even what Florida did to Ohio State last year...

But a 1 pt victory in OT off of 5 minutes of 10:1 odds playcalling is definitely not a "waxing"...

Boise State dominated that entire game up until the last couple minutes. If they didn't start playing conservative during the second half the game the score would've been a lot different.

It was really good to see the Rainbow Warriors get beat badly like that. Unless you are a UGA fan, that game was almost unwatchable, i only made it through half way into the 3rd qt and i called TKO. Tonights game should be good. OU, WVU. But tomorrows Kansas and Va Tech, yeah, unless the Hokies play amazingly poor, i don't see it as a contest.

It would have been nice to see Georgia and USC play. Maybe that would have happened if they had a playoff system

Right. Because no one deserves to be in bowl games except those that have already been there.

They need a fucking playoff system because the bowls in general are stupid as hell, and there's always going to be arguments about who should/shouldn't be there. They should have all conference champs, plus a few extra spots for conferences like the SEC, and put them in single elimination playoffs. This way, if big teams don't want to play the WAC, fine. We can still send a representative without crybabies.

Then people like Heskey can stop sucking their own dicks so much. If they win, they win. If they don't, they don't.

As for the Hawai'i game, they were obviously nervous. They'd never been in a situation like that before, and the pressure was enormous (everything here is Go Warriors). They were all skittish, and the o-line collapsed on Brennan from the get-go. They started getting into a little bit of rhythm later, but Brennan needed to be pulled out after the 1st quarter, at least for a little while.

Aside from that, Georgia played a great game. The kind everyone expected.

Go 2008 Warriors! Undefeated season again!

Didn't help matters much that OU didn't start 10 of their usual defensive players...

Not to mention they just looked...well...ugly...

If you've watched a lot of football this season you'd know that OU's D is one of the best in the country...and they just simply didn't look it today...

Pat White is a monster, no doubt...but Devine doesn't often see 8 foot wide holes in the line and no secondary 3 times in a game against anyone...especially OU...

Even WVU fans should be slightly disappointed, because with the way OU played, WVU didn't prove anything other than they can beat a team that didn't show up...

Just like Pitt did against them Mountaineers...

WVU hasn't really "showed up" against anyone playing a great game this year...(as far as I know)...and I'm sort of disappointed there...I'd like to see if Pat White can run all over an ACTUAL defense, rather than some chumps playing a great game, or some great players playing a chumpy game...

Hawaii didn't deserve to be there, and they got trounced like that for a reason - there's a definite talent discrepancy between BCS and non-BCS schools, and teams like Hawaii really don't deserve to be there unless they prove it and beat someone before hand.

I agree...

They were pumped when things were going their way...but as soon as the tides turned again they just mailed in the rest of the game...

Kansas had all the world to lose, and everything to prove...VA Tech wasn't going to gain anything by creaming the Jayhawks, and definitely aren't going to lose anything by falling 3 points short...

Beamer didn't help matters much making some strange decisions...but you know, all the better for KU...They'll be ranked in the top 15 next season, and will lose their first 2 games...and will be forever remembered as the team that beat the system...

Someone is going to have to explain to me the playcalling...

Hacock is running the SAME defense that failed against Illinois...

And Tressel is running the SAME offense that didn't pick up anything there...

You have a team with talent, you ran the ball solidly for 2 drives, and what do you decide to do? Spread the field and throw with one of the most stationary, indecisive, slow minded quarterbacks in the game...

Ohio States offense is NOT the pass game, it hasn't been all year...but for some reason they REFUSE to go to the run...I honestly can't explain it...

LSU has not proven that they can stop it, WHY STOP RUNNING IT?!?!

Having any Big Ten team with 1 loss in the national title turned out to be a joke. And actually according to last year, having any Big Ten team in the title is also a joke. How fucking stupid..... if Ohio State doesn't even have to play a conference championship game such as other major conferences, they could atleast schedule tougher non-conference opponents instead of Youngstown State, Akron, Washington, and Kent State. HAHA.

All Ohio State had to do was give Wells the ball so you can keep the ball out of Boeckmans hands, and not get stupid penalties. They did neither, so therefore they lost, in no way like last year, but still a loss.

And to the people complaining about ohio state being in the title game, I sure as hell hope you said the same thing when oklahoma did the same thing, all of 4 years ago.

In what way has ohio state earned the reputation of being "overrated". If you are basing this off of just the last two years then obviously you do not understand the meaning of the word reputation.
