i heard that if my xbox is assembled around october 19th 2005 i can get it fixed free.

i bought mine from ebay and it says the assmebly date is november 30, 2005

can i get it fixed for free?

im not sure if it has a warranty since its from ebay and its used...

how long is the process and how much is it if its not free?

ALL 3 ring situations are free for repairs. It's happened so much that they said "Fuck it, if we charge people for something that happens all the time, we might get sued or something." . Just call up Xbox at 1-800-4MY-XBOX. At first its some dumbass recording or something, but just ask about repairs and the three rings. They will eventually patch you through to a person and they'll need to know you're location and shit and your Xbox's serial number. That would be on the inside area of the USB area.

Edit-If you aren't sure about the warranty or something, take off the faceplate. There will be a sticker saying Microsoft. If it's not ripped your fine.. I don't even know if that matters much. Ask the guy when you call. Anyway, my Xbox took 2 weeks to get back.

go to xbox.com and put in your serial number, and it will tell u if you are eligible for repair

you should be, becaus they extended the warranty for 3 years for the red ring of death

my xbox also just failed,and ,mine was also one of the ones that came out at launch

Make sure it's really the real three rings of death. I've had issues with mine where I didn't plug the cables in right, or forgot to switch from TV to HDTV, etc. That causes 3 red rings to flash until you fix em.

meh, just spend 25$ and they'll either fix it, if they can't do that... they'll just replace it as the warranty (thats what the 25$ is for) will be in effect for 1 whole year... 1-800-4MY-XBOX... register it for a fix mmk?

trust me its worth it

Ho Ho! Good one Mr. Paper. Jolly good. But as said, I'll deal with the 2 weeks of no 360 getting it repaired (which I never have yet since launch) rather than buying a ridiculously overpriced system which still has a pathetic gamebase.

Actually, if you have a wide interpretation of "console," the PC would be...but that's stretching it.

But the PS2 isn't. Original Xbox >PS2 IMO.

Maybe if you're living in the past. I definitely love my 360 more than my ps2. I still play my ps2 though.
