View Full Version : Web-Based RPG - Holy War - Not bad for a work-safe game!

Continuing the EBWF Game fanaticism, I stumbled upon this web-based game called Holy War. I saw it as an Ad and actually clicked on it to check it out with a great deal of skepticism.

It's actually pretty cool. Here's the synopsis:

Playing the game is free. When you register, you decide if you fight as a Christian Crusader, Muslim Saracen or Pagan.

Through the battles you fight, you will gain experience points. If you reach a certain number of experience points, you rise up to a higher level. To become a better fighter, you not only need a weapon, a shield, a helmet, armour and a horse, but you also have to train your property values and those of your horse (if you have one) upwards. To do this, you need gold coins. To get the gold coins, you can work, plunder or fight.

You can also earn many pieces of gold by recruiting new warriors! To do this, you receive your own link, which you can find under Status > Diplomacy. You can send this link to your friends, put it on your website (you can find banners under 'Download') or use it as a signature for your forum contributions. If somebody clicks on your link and registers at Holy-War, you have successfully recruited a new warrior! From then on, you will always receive 10% of the gold coins that your recruited warrior wins in the fight; man against man or in the order battles. The 10% is an extra bonus. Your recruited warrior will not be charged or put at a disadvantage by being recruited by you!

I picked Pagan and am starting an EBWF 'Order". You have to train up to level 5 before you can join.
If you're interested, join up here (http://www.holy-war.de/EN/World2/bin/?advertiser=107479). World 2.

I'm almost level 8 now and it's been entertaining thus far. It's great because there's a lot of down time so if you're stuck at an office desk like I am, you can multi-task the game and work quite well. It's worth a look.

A Christian, a Muslim, or a Pagan. What a stupid game.

I'll bite. Creating an account now. I've enjoyed a couple browser based RPGs, slave hack was cool for a short time.

It asks me to join a world. Which world are we in?

Yep. World 2. I've figured out the best way to make money.

Basically what I do is stretch 1 browser across my monitor so it looks like an advertisement.

Go to attack - PLUNDER for 10 minutes until you use up your 60 or 120 minutes. I got a premium account I think as a trial. I may end up shelling out the 5 bucks for a month's access.

After you plunder for 10 minutes, attack someone, then go back and plunder, then attack and so on. This allows you to regenerate health while you're attacking so you won't be screwed.

After you've used up all your plundering you'll have a large sum of money. Improve your residence ASAP. This will regen your health faster. Obviously bump up your stats in the training link under 'status'.

You can buy health elixers and continue fighting people. You get 2 pts of experience for someone that's 1 level higher than you. 1 point for someone your own level, and 0 points for levels below you.

How do you stop working? I need to plunder!

You can't. You're set. You should only work when you're not going to be around to attack or if your life is so low and u can't afford a health elixer.

Typically when I go home, I set it to work for 8 hours.

The best web based rpg is runescape, and that game is still horrible.

Which do you think is better, spending your gold on training, or buying weapons?

I'm only sporting a club at level 6, but i have high stats relatively, 15 in all.

Well you can get out of work, but getting stuck in a battle (entering army camp) great.

Hrm. How do you "work"? I assume it's a way to earn cash while resting.

Another bit of advice is to sign up 1 or 2 more characters. You can use your OTHER character's id to get 1% gain of whatever your other characters make. Plus you can play them while your other one is plundering or working.

I don't really worry much about weapons. If you think about the gold/effective gains, weapons are pretty shitty when you could spend a couple hundred gold on jumping your other training levels up much higher. I can only see weapons being necessary later on.

I'm saving up for a horsey. :]

Click on the city tab, then go to the bottom center area where the classifieds appear to be posted. It's a worker's sign-up sheet. You can choose 1 - 8 hours to work. Again, I'd only do it when you're resting.

I actually gain very little from referral links, but if you're going to give the game a try, why not?

I'm hoping to make an EBWF order once I hit 10

I'm not taking anything away from anyone. I barely benefit at all. I'm making the majority off of my other 2 characters. Aside from that, experience is what needs to be farmed above everything else. Not a pissant amount of gold. :)

I actually need the help of everyone else to put together 2,000 gold so I can start the EBWF order and fuck nigras up. Then we can create battles and holy wars and I can give money to the members to increase their stats, to win more battles and so on.

Not a bad web game. Currently level 4. All stats are around 10.

A quick word, it seems weapons and armor simply give you a small stat boost. I haven't seen them do anything else. In other words, it's more efficient to put the money you earn into stats until the price of a stat point is more than the price of the weapon.

I guess your stats will max out at some point per level, but I haven't seen that happen yet.

thats what i gathered as well, but a horse is worth it, when you purchase a horse you get to train it just like yourself, only in atk, def and sta, but it starts out at 1 coin just like your base stats do. and follows the same pricing, so it allows you go massive atk,def and sta at cheap price.

I'm level 5 with all stats at level 10 currently.

I just hit level 5 with all stats basically around 10. Im ready to start the Order when you are. It says you have to be level 15 to start an order and only 1000 coins sooo take that into account.

I hate these types of games. Usually after a few week the hype dies down and all the countless hours you spent just went down the toilet.
