Halo 2 ruined the entire thing. For some reason the developers thought we wanted to play as the aliens and hear their side of the story. We did not.

Luckily Halo 3's epic gameplay redeemed the series.

I play Halo cause it's a fucking easy game to pick up & play. I've never once watched all the cutscenes in any Halo game.
