Avatars

[TOOL illusion]

Anyone know where to get gifs, etc. to use as avartars?
I tried to bring the avatar I use in the "Old Forum" over to this one, but it doesn't automatically resize the image.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Actually you can use ANY .gif...


BUT

it can only be 50 x 50 pixles... and boy that blows... I wanted fighting knuckles... but it was... 50 x 51

Tool. I know how you can use your old avatar. This is watcha do:

1. Get the pic and save it to your computer (in other words, right click on the pic you want, click save picture as....., then save it to one of your folders or something)

2. Next, create an account at an image hosting site.(www.villagephotos.com thats what I use and its very easy and free) Go there and create an account.

3. After you have created your account, login in and click up at the top: Photos. After that, click your photo folder or whatever it says there that has a folder next to it. After that, click on "Upload New Images". Click browse, then select the picture where you saved it from.

4. After you upload the pic, you will be able to post it in forums, or share it etc. So, now go to your folder(where you already were) and click on the image that is there. After you do that, scroll down about half way to the "Resize or Compress this image" section. It has a certain amount of pixels that is set to what you image already is. Change both of them to 50x50 pixels, then click the Resize/Compress button.

5. After all that, click on the link that returns you to your folder. There should be another image there. Click it. Go down to see if the size is 50x50(this happened to me and it wasn't at 50x50). If its not, then just do it again, and put the sizes at 50x50. It should be at the right size now.

6. Now, go down to the section that reads: Image URL for EZBoard Messageboards. This is the fourth one down from The Public URL. There should be a green URL under it. Copy/paste it in the place where your avatar is, and taadaa, you got it. Its prolly so small, that its as gay as a locker room in Alaska.

This should get you your avatar. A tad smaller, but it will get you it. Lemme know if it doesn't work, and I'll prolly know whats wrong.

i just set up an acct with villagephotos.com and the forum wont let me upload an avatar.....does anyone know why this is?
the dimensions are 50 x 50 pix and it is a .gif
but then when try to upload it it says "file size to big" (not true)

When you resize your pic it creates a new one....so look at the last pic in your album. You shold have 2 of the same one. 1 is teh original and the other is the smaller one u just resized. You might have to resize it again if it didn't work.

better easier way to get an avator:

1. save pic as... (make sure there are no spses in ur file name)
2. get acount in http://www.geocities.com
3. upload pic
4. go to file manager and view ur pic.
5. save link and put it into custom avators....

it works with all pics from http://www.badassbuddy.com
