I am from Detroit and I am a die hard Piston's fan. I love our team and players but I was wondering if anyone else agrees that we could use some changes in our coaching staff?
Flip has done ok with the stones so far but he also did ok with the TWolves.
Piston's fan or not what do you think?

you're 29/12, you're playing good basketball, why the hell would you want to fire flip now? Hes a good coach and hes doing better than ok. Im not sure where you got this idea.

just because larry brown won a championship with the same players and flip hasn't doesn't necessarily reflect on flip as a bad coach

I didnt intend on comparing Flip and Brown. Just look at what happend in the last couple playoffs. forget about Lebron giong nuts or the NBA sucking Wades balls. The pistons played bad even in games they won. Down the stretch and in clutch moments I feel like the wrong decisions are made.

Nothing wrong with the coaching. It's just the way the team is built. It's better to have a "best player in the game" type player and build around him, than the Pistons way of a total team effort with no real superstars. 16 of the last 17 championship teams were built that way.
Spurs x4 - Duncan
Lakers x3 - Shaq & Kobe
Bulls x6 - Jordan
Rockets x2 - Olajuwon
Heat - Wade & Shaq

It would be a terrible move to mess around with the head coaching situation in Detroit. They continue to be an elite team in the league, and Saunders is doing a great job managing those guys.
My only beef with Saunders is that he is not as defensive minded as Larry Brown was, and the year that they won the championship, their defense was what won it for them. The Pistons are a defensive team, period. As much as people hate to admit it, losing Ben Wallace really hurt the Pistons in that when they had the two Wallaces in the center, scoring in the paint became MUCH more difficult for opposing teams.
Last year, I think what did them in was trying to be too offensive. Acquiring Chris Webber was really not a good move on the Pistons' part. They were expecting a guy who, at that time was in his mid 30's and playing on 2 bad knees to contribute so much, and they got away from playing D. This year, they have a MUCH improved bench, and McDyess, even though he's getting up there in years, can play defense in the center.
