Has anyone actually beaten any of these games? I use to play the first one a looong time ago and never even came close to beating it. Either im retarded or you have to have absolutely no life and start pinning up news papers for clues like in A Beautiful Mind to beat any of these games . On another note, they're so boring it boggles my mind as to why they keep making sequels.

Myst was truely epic, so was the second one, wasn't it called Riven?
Anyway these were more fun to watch rather than play.

There's Myst, Riven, Exile and more maybe. In one of them there was some underwater train/submarine kind of thing that was pretty cool and these weird huts on the side of a mountain. Just really weird cool stuff but I don't have the patience or skill to beat any of these games, even with strategy guides.

First one is awesome.
Riven was nearly impossible without a guide (like pulling a lever would open a door across the globe)
I have IV and V, the graphics are amazing:boink:

Another thing, I was hoping that they'd eventually get rid of the having to click to move somewhere. It'd be nice to use u know like the WAD keys or maybe the arrow keys and then click when you want to see what something does. Not having to constantly click to move.

the 5th Myst (the final one) has that option where the world is totally explorable and 3D.

Really? cause my father just bought the newest one (well he says its the newest one) and it seems just like the other ones. Does the newest one have some dude who traveled there by some machine and the machine breaks and you have to fix it by somehow adjusting the different sounds and pitches to match another frequency? Just throwing that out there cause thats all he told me about it so far.

Wow, that was awesome. That face on the static TV, what was that for again, I barely remember it, but I knew it was kind of important. I'm talking about the bearded dude.
Again, what was the objective of the first game?

I don't remember the signifigance of the static dude. Maybe he had clues to help you or something? I think the objective of the first game was to find your way back home maybe. The couple things I'll never forget are that library with all those books and you can read every single one even the burnt ones, the rocket ship of course, and my favorite was that one dark room with that chair that looks like a dentist chair and on the ceiling are stars or constelations (something like that).

I LOVE these games. People normally say it's boring, but I love logical challenges. I got so into the game I would buy a 180 college ruled notebook for notes and calculations. I have one for all the games including Uru. It really sadden me when they ended the series. It's still one of my favorite game series of all time.

I only say its boring because I can never get anywhere in the games. There's great scenery as well as the vey relaxing music, and if I actually do complete some type of puzzle it actually becomes fun for a moment....Then back to boredom because I'm STUCK. I really thought I'd get flamed for making a Myst thread. It good to see alot of other people enjoy these games.

I used to play that a hell of a long time ago. It was actually my Dad's game and he actually got pretty far. All I did was walk around, listen to the pretty music, and get on that computer thingy that lets you see the constellations at any day at any year.
