May I have some jazz?

So, I started getting back into Testament, then I started to
listen to Alex Skolnick's jazz project (The Alex Skolnick Trio).

I'm really interested in this music, but I'm not sure if it's really
"true" jazz or not. here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl0k0MgjpKI&feature=related) is an example.

Doing Jazz band for my school would be a way to fulfill my Arts
credit, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some
more jazz. Preferably in the same vein as Alex Skolnick, or guitar-based.

Lou Donaldson is my favorite at the moment. As for guitar based jazz, I would look into George Benson and Earl Kugh.

In the Alex Skolnick vein, try Ben Monder. He's probably my favorite modern Jazz guitarist.
