Post your favorite melodic metal bands. Ignore the title, any kind of metal band. I dont care. I'll just post my one favorite metal band lol. This is sort of my way of finding out of more bands also. :idea:

On that note, could you explain to me why melodeath is looked down upon in elitist circles? I personally listen to this sub genre as completely independent of death metal, in the same manner that you would not compare power metal to black metal looking for 'brutality' in the sound.

Anyhow, here are some lesser known bands that I've picked up on from other music forums, so as to not list the cliche bands:
