Everything they did was either too much or not enough. It was the difference between 1 goal to a possible 4 goals IMO. Love the old kits, though.

I'm really getting fucking sick of United, Instead of Fergie staying behind giving the team a fucking rollocking, he goes and jet's of to Africa to "promote" the pre-season tour. As if it needs anymore promoting? We went there in 2006 ffs.

Ok, my insight for tommorrows game.
I hope we put out a full strength team as i put Arsenal up there with the Berties and Dippers in terms of rivalry. I hope we win just to put that loss last week out of my head, i still feel gutted by that.
I hope it does not go to a replay. I think the last time we played them in the 5th round if i'm correct was when Giggs missed that open net, and the Beckham boot incident ( AKA Ryan giggs Headbutted Beckham)

Rather have got the rent boys at home.
What does everyone else think about the semis being played at Wembley?
Kind of ruins the specialty of the FA Cup final a little bit, in my opinion. Plus the annoying thing of traveling to London twice. But I suppose then Man Utd fans won't have far to travel. ;)
lol. im sure its mainly for the money so they can pay more towards the stadium

I don't see why it can't be held at our "second home" Villa park. if we get through.
Just a bastard for teams up north, it costs money this is what all these execs and all these board members don't realise as they don't live in the real world. The final yeah you can save up for that but the semi and the final?

Yup, more money. 90,000 spectators or somewhere around 35,000 depending which stadium, if not played in Wembley.
It's fair in a way of a neutral site, but it takes away the feel a little bit by not playing in a teams real home.

Which game should i watch today? It's a toss up between Roma/Madrid or Liverpool/Inter. I'm interested to see how Liverpool will perform, plus it's on real TV on ESPN2 here today. However, i think the Roma/Madrid is going to be a better game, just a hunch.
Let's get some predictions in for today.
Roma 2 Madrid 1
Liverpool 1 Inter 1
Schalke 1 Porto 0
Olympiacos 0 Chelsea 2

Tottenham V PSV
This one ought to be interesting, but I've got my money on PSV. We've got a good defence, and the problems we're having are with creating space against extremely defensive teams. So far we've beaten Ajax, Feyenoord and AZ without a problem, but we were worried by VVV.
As such, Tottenham shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'll even say that PSV has got a decent shot at winning the UEFA-cup this year.

Holy shit Eduardo got rocked. Was the foul intentional? It says Taylor got a straight red but was it that he just was too slow or did he intentionally try to injure him. I only saw the pictures on Youtube and they look horrible.
Anyways, I hate having to pay goddamn 10 dollars extra a month to get select games and repeats of the same match over and over. ESPN claims to air some of the UEFA cup but they play the games at 3 in the morning after fucking Womens Basketball and College hockey.
Its hard to follow many of the european leagues due to lack of coverage but I am able to watch Eto'o and Barcelona because of GOL TV. Keep doing what you do spainards, your tv station rules.

Youtube is not allowed to broadcast Premier League and Uefa clips. People try putting them up, but they are usually taken down in hours.
It wasn't intentional, just a very late challenge. The damage was caused because of the speed of approach between the two players, Taylor was too slow to it and it was unfortunate for Eduardo. Very nasty outcome. I do feel for Eduardo, even though I hate Arsenal, it's a one in a kind horrific outcome, remind me of Dave Buust (Sp?) of Coventry against Man Utd some 10 odd years or whatever ago.
Though Newcastle 1 - 5 Man Utd is brilliant. : - D

02-24-2008, 03:49 AM
That is really bad injury. It looked like the bone broke through his skin. I feel a pit in my stomach after looking at the pictures and watching the video. I don't think it intentional, but very very poor challenge. Eduardo is a very class player, one of the main reasons Croatia finished top of their group to qualify for Euro 2008. He is 25, hopefully he can recover. They didn't say there was any ligament damage, so that is good news. Ligament and tendon damage can be very hard to recover from, while fractures heal and steal plates and screws are most likely going to be placed to reinforce it. Also, I don't think a lifetime ban is necessary, but he should be suspended for a few games.
4savo4
02-24-2008, 04:34 AM
Lifetime ban for Taylor? Yet when I think it was flamini who jumped into Nani it was ok because he was "Showboating".
Unlucky for Eduardo because 9 times out of ten the player jumps maybe tumbles over and it's not even a yellow.
YorkshireMan
02-24-2008, 08:23 AM

Looks like the injury isn't as horrid as it looks. Apparently the first info Primorac got from Arsenal's doctors is that Edu is rather looking at a 6 months break, not a year-long one. He was promptly operated in Birmingham where it was established that he'd only (insert irony) broken his outer bone (fibula) in his left foot, whereas the inner bone was left intact. This was confirmed by both Gary Lewin and Edu's wife. Further exams will be taken in London, where Edu will be transported tomorrow.
A glimmer of hope indeed
Wish it had been Nani/Ronaldo/Tevez/Rooney/Anderson/Fergie though.
The thought of someone going to the dugout and tackling Fergie is pretty funny .

Utd are the biggest club in the world.
Utd took a million to Barcelona.
All their fans know all the words to the flowers of Manchester, they sing it before every match, every time.
All Utd fans are cool socialists.
Utd have the most loyal and hardest firm in the world. The cockney reds all come from Manchester.
Utd fans are so cool they never wear colours ever (the fact they sell 4 million shirts a week is irrelevant)
Utd have the BEST stadium in the whole world.
Utd fans NEVER sing about death as they know only too well how it feels.
All the famous bands and musicians in Manchester support Man United. All of them. There are no embarrasing celeb fans, they are all cool. They ALL come from Manchester.
All Utd fans have the first Stone Roses Album (Ltd edition of course)
All Utd fans know the words to "One Love"
All Utd fans were at Spike Island, it was their special day.
There are no Utd fans in Stockport, and definitely non in London.
They are not in any way bothered about City which is why they never ever spend most of their matches singing nursery rhymes about us.
There are no City fans in Manchester. Not one, they all come from Stockport.
Eric Cantona is the best player in the world ever.
United have never received government aid to build the swamp (except for the full rebuild of the cantilever stand before the 66 world cup).
You just can't get a ticket for Old Trafford
The train to London Euston is never full of United fans. Ever. Never seen one.

I've only started following club football this year so it confused me. i've always been a fan of national football (world cup, euro cup) but it's very hard to follow the clubs living in Canada. It's not too hard to find a Man-U game or Barcelona, but i've decided to follow Bayern Munich being a fan of the German national team.

Hmmm... In England the top 4 teams get get a chance to be in the champions league with the top two automatically qualifying and the other having to play in a qualifying stage. With the winner progressing to the group stage.

Champions League are the top teams from the top leagues in Europe playing in like a March madness type tourney, only without the shitty schools. Uefa Cup has more teams involved but the shitty teams are thrown in.
Uefa Cup is the teams who won any cup in their country(like England has the FA Cup and Carling Cup) or the next best team after the Champions League qualifiers.

Regardless of what I'm expecting, the chances of a non-English team winning seem pretty obvious to me. Sure, one of these teams has an excellent shot, but I personally just think that saying you "can't see how" another team can win when it sits at 50/50 is a bit much.
All you can argue that they've proven so far is that they are the top league. You cannot argue that they have the top team. Barca and Roma are damn good teams who have plenty of chance of winning it. That's like saying, if there were 7 championship teams and Manchester United left in the FA cup, that you couldn't see how a championship team couldn't win it.
The number of teams don't matter. If Barca is better than the premiership teams, then they'll win the CL, regardless of how many teams they have in there.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I see PSV winning that one.

Incidentally I HATE Farfan, he is the only play on Pro evo I can never stop from scoring against me, always after it ricochets off one of my players does he pop up and score. It is very annoying. Very annoying indeed. :squint:
But yes, it was a good goal by him and PSV looked good for the win, spurs weren't really all that clever.

Sad that the 'top' team in spain can't advance further, again. and again. I want Barca to win but without Messi its gonna be tough, lets all watch Eto bring home the championship.

And Schalke and Fener are no walk overs. You don't make it to the final 8 if you're not a solid team, especially after handling business on the road in the 2nd leg. I can see Liverpool getting popped by one of these teams. They always seem to play down to 2nd and 3rd tier teams.

Why can you see Liverpool getting "Popped" by one of those teams?
It still fucking amazes me that people who have some knowledge of football still think Liverpool are underdogs and not likely to succeed.
We are England's best chance of winning the Champions League and we have proven we are a match for anyone by beating the best teams over recent years.
In this competition we are one of the best teams.
How many so-called better teams do we have to send packing before people start to refer to the team we are playing (no matter who that is) as the underdog?
Im not arsed, people can give us no chance, thats how we prefer it anyway.
I would much prefer a big team in the next round ahead of Shalke or Fenerbache (provided we dont get thumped at the San Siro ofcourse), we always do better when nobody thinks we will win and lets face it, if Liverpool play Fener' or Shalke they will be clear favorites.
NOBODY wants to be drawn against Liverpool in the next round.
I honestly think an English team will win it this year provided they can avoid eachother in the quater finals.
To be honest I think Man U might do it, they are the best team in the world at the minute and by a long way.

That's the thing, Liverpool need to keep playing big clubs, cause they play up to their potential against them, and Liverpool are built for these big Euro night matches.
They almost got bit in the ass by Marseille cause they let them walk all over them at Anfield, but knew they needed to step up in the 2nd leg, and they did. I know it's different from the first group to the quarters, but you can't sit there and say you wouldn't be a bit more worried if they were paired up with Schalke or Fenerbahce, then say a Chelsea or Roma.
But we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let's see if they can play at the San Siro as if it was a 0-0 aggregate going in.
And i have all the respect in the world for Liverpool as a club and their fans. This has nothing to do with any of that.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson pointed an accusing finger at referee Martin Atkinson after the FA Cup quarter-final defeat by Portsmouth.
Ferguson felt United had a penalty turned down when Sylvain Distin blocked Cristiano Ronaldo, before Sulley Muntari's late winner from the spot.
Ferguson told MUTV: "It's absolutely ridiculous. I cannot explain it.
"Managers get sacked because of things like that and he's going to referee a game next week."
United had substitute keeper Tomasz Kuszczak, on at half-time for injured Edwin van Der Sar, sent off for a foul on Milan Baros that led to Muntari's 78th-minute spot-kick.
Ronaldo also revealed a lack of protection from officials had made him "scared" to play his natural game.
"Sometimes I say that this is the best league in the world, but sometimes they don't protect the skilful players," said the Portuguese winger.
"After what happened to the Arsenal player Eduardo da Silva, I am scared to do my skills.
The treatment Ronaldo is getting, I'm worried about him
"The referee against Portsmouth was unbelievable. In the first five minutes, there were three fouls and he took no action and then he failed to give a penalty. It's difficult to play like this.
"Sometimes they just protect the defenders and I am thinking about having to change my game because it is difficult to play like that.
"Diarra did not even try to play the ball when he tackled me and he wasn't even booked. It's a joke. So often, there were fouls and the referee did nothing."
Ferguson also directed his wrath at Keith Hackectt, thegeneral manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Board.
"Hackett has got a lot to answer for in this country," said the Scot. "He's not doing his job properly.
"He should be assessed like everyone else is assessed. I'm assessed as a manager, the players are assessed, referees are assessed.
"Martin Atkinson will referee next week, no problem, but his performance today should not be accepted in our game.
We came here the other week and got slaughtered but we've come back and turned it around
"I agree with Sepp Blatter, the standards in our game as opposed to the Continent - the tolerance level - is behind Europe. I think it's a big problem."
After seeing his side's hopes of repeating their 1999 Treble extinguished, Ferguson said: "The game was decided by the decision not to give us a penalty.
"They had great confidence to hang on knowing the referee was on their side.
"Lassana Diarra had eight or nine fouls in the match. It's incredible. I've got to agree with Arsene Wenger. Someone is going to get a serious injury in our game. He's had one himself with Eduardo.
"It's not a nice thing to talk about, but the treatment Ronaldo is getting I'm worried about him.
"Keith Hackett is in a nice, comfortable position and does nothing really. I don't think he makes a contribution to the referees' performances in our country.
"That should be addressed. He's not doing his job properly.
"That guy (Atkinson) will go and referee next week no problem. You see his favourites always get the games and that's disappointing."

Having just watched some highlights on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBlfHZoGtxs), Tomasz Kuszczak was unlucky to be sent off. And that Ronaldo foul looked a penalty. Meh, it's gone now.

Having watched the highlights it seemed Man Utd were the better team, in most of the games they've lost they've been the better team, but they just waste chances. 2 cleared off the line yesterday for example.
But which manager doesn't moan after losing a match which should've been easy? Ferguson had a fine point about the penalty which was never given.

Right. But he never says "we didn't take our chances" he says "the ref should have given us a penalty because we're at OT."
And it wasn't a pen ffs, it's a physical game, the game is well on it's way to becoming non contact thanks to cunts like Tranny.
Right. But he never says "we didn't take our chances" he says "the ref should have given us a penalty."
Of course that's what he's going to mention, it's an after-match interview. He probably does mention that Man Utd waste chances, but you pick out the bad ones he says. It's as if you purposely watch his after-match interviews when Man Utd lose :squint: . Of course managers say things these sort of things..
It was at least an in-direct free kick. But haven't seen one of those given in a long, long time. Ronaldo was about to absolutely fly past the defender so the defender had no choice but to block his path off. I'd imagine there are a lot of players who'd go down on that challenge, with running full pace.

Yeah I dont believe what Im about to say but I agree with 4savo4 (I feel violated now).
Seria A has seriously gone down hill, there needs to be some serious thinking done by the Italian FA.
What was once a fantastic league is now an average league full of corruption.
When Liverpool were drawn against Internazionale everyone was saying it would be a dificult game and the Inter' would probably win over the 2 legs bcoz they are the best team in Italy and Liverpool are only the 4th best team in England but over the 2 legs I only remember Reina having to make a couple of good saves.
I know Inter' lost to Napoli at the weekend but before they had played Liverpool they were unbeaten for ages and had a fantastic home record... They play a good English side and get their arses handed to them.
Even the Inter' fans were applauding Liverpool last night, they just had to hold their hands up and say they were beaten by a better side.
Like 4savo4 said, ANY of the top 4 teams in England would win seria A comfortably.
I will be VERY surprised now if an English team doesnt win the european cup, lets face it ANY of the English sides could win it and Barcelona are capable of winning it but you can write off Fener', Shalke and Roma.
I think I've said this before, but I find it frustrating to watch live Serie A football.
Usually on a Sunday on ch5, the shittest part of it is no matter what team it is, given the slightest opportunity they all shoot from 30 yards out. Every. Fucking. Time.
Watching the highlights is much better as there's probably one goal from 30 yards out, but that's the only one to go at least on target in about 3,000 shots from long range.
4 English teams left in the last 8 is awesome.

Anyway, for the most part the game was almost unwatchable. Foul, foul, foul, foul, argument, foul, argument, shot from 25 yards that sky rockets over, foul, etc. The second half was better, two really good goals by Juventus.

You could have beat us and we'd still have stayed up. :bigwink:
To be honest, I'm not a fan of Curbishley. I hate his style of boring, grinding football. The man is so slow to make substitutions it is laughable, and often by the time he sends 'Super Spector' on in the 76th minute "to sure up the defense", the game is already lost.
Sounds cliched, but Curb's style is not the West Ham way and his negativity is a pain to watch at times. Most of the blame can be attributed to his insistance on the 4-5-1. Perfect if you're looking for a smash and grab away trip, but not at home against dirge like Fulham and Reading.
And now our defence has decided to fuck off ( +8 GD to -4 in 3 games ffs) he's finding himself losing support.
It all seems academic as apparently he is supposed to be paid off royally, for accomplishing what he was hired to do ( fend off the drop and consolidate), this summer ready for an ambitious new manager to step in and take us to the next level... apparently, if you believe this '5 year plan' the Icelanders have harped on about.
So in short, done what was asked of him, but Christ, its boring to watch.

Getafe has looked like extremely good. PSV probably has the best shot after Bayern, though.
Isn't it the manager of Getafe that has been linked to take the possible spot of Grant at Chelsea? Or am i off chart, here?

1 Arsenal v Liverpool
Pick of the bunch. 3 meetings in such a short amount of time could mean some unpredictable football. Given we all expected an all English tie, this is probably the best that could have come out. There is a massive mountain for Liverpool to climb here, especially given you have to play them away from home twice that week. Should be interesting, the only way I can see Liverpool winning it is if they go for it at the Emirates. Waiting till Anfield I don't think will do the job because I just can't see Arsenal not scoring.
2 AS Roma v Man Utd
7-1 at OT would do for me :bigwink: Hopefully there are less shenanigans this time, I'm tired of people getting their faces broke in Italy.
3 Schalke 04 v FC Barcelona
I can only see barca for this one.
4 Fenerbahce v Chelsea No one wanted to go to Turkey, unfortunately for Chelsea, they drew the short straw.

Ah I didn't realise that team 1 played team 4.
Which would be worse a (hypothetical) final between them or a (unfortunately realistic) semi final which is obviously two matches and would come down to penalties.
Uefa Cup quarter-final draw:
1 Bayer Leverkusen v FC Zenit St Petersburg
2 Rangers v Sporting Lisbon
3 Bayern Munich v Getafe
4 Fiorentina v PSV
Uefa Cup semi-final draw:
Bayern Munich/Getafe v Leverkusen/Zenit
Rangers/Sporting v Fiorentina/PSV

I just hope Rafa lets Arsenal win the league meeting by resting every single player, if I was him I would seriously field the youth/reserve team for the league game.
Im not too bothered about the draw, we had to play an English side eventually right?
I would have prefered Shalke (worst team ever to reach the QF?) but I'll take Arsenal.

Have you ever been to Anfield???
I have been countless times and yes against lesser oposition it is far from rocking in Anfield but when bigger teams come to play the fans do their bit by acting as a 12th man to try and give the team a little extra push.
Old Toilet seats not far off 80,000 and it is probably one of the worst atmospheres in the Premiership, even that twat with the alcahol ravaged face has had a pop at you "Supporters" this season.
I have said it before and I'll say it again... The best traveling fans to visit Anfield are Portsmouth, Southampton, City and West Ham (probably in that order).

In South America, the culture is so preserved it's like they are still living in the past. Fans in the 30's-40's are the same as the turn of the century. In England, things are getting so advanced that the culture is becoming lost. That's the problem with the U.S, people are getting more fair weathered and less serious about the sport because it's being handed to them, people are just getting lazier about it.
Comparing Yankees fans from the 50's to now is just stupid, it's not even close. Same goes with United fans and most others.

Yeah, would be nice if England fielded a strong team.
The last time they played about 3 or 4 years ago in America it was a farce. To call them the England B team would have been stretching it, it was more like a C-strength team.

It's the media's choice to pick something out of the game, and in fairness, last nights game was a poor match and the only thing to happen was Ronaldo getting 2 goals. One of which was another free kick special.
They don't mention how he turns on the single-trick pony malarkey against relegation-fodder Bullton and Derby, but in a big game, he's anonymous.
That's the second/third time you've mentioned that now. He's not "anonymous" in a big game, it's the fact that he's usually got 2 players marking him because he is that big of a threat, sp he can't do as much as he can in other fixtures, but here's why; the bigger teams can cope with putting 2 men on him, but the lower positioned teams can't. Thus giving him an opportunity to shine when he's only being marked by 1 man.

First off 4savo4 and Rado, do you realy believe United controlled the game bcoz they were so much better than Liverpool or will you admit that the game was ruined by the referee and had Mascherano (probably our best player all season) not been sent off in the harshest way possible it would have been a great game that could have gone either way????
The 3-0 scoreline isnt a true reflection of the game, even with 10 men you werent 3 goals better than us.
At the end of the day yes you won but its nothing to get too excited about.... You beat us by default.
Fergie after the game was hilarious, he was saying his team were great and showed maturaty and yadda yadda yadda.... No mention of, yeah, we were greatly helped by a poor decision by the referee but thats the way the cookie crumbles.
Anyone would think they had just won a difficult 11 vs 11 fair game of football.
The same happened about 4 years ago, our captain Hyypia was sent off 60 seconds into the game and Van Nistelrooy scored the penalty, it finished 4-0 and all the United fans were making out like they had just moped the floor with Liverpool.
If the game was at Anfield and Keane had been sent off 60 seconds in and we were 1-0 up too I would be confident of hitting 5 or 6.
My point? Have your moment, be gratefull for the 3 points but dont start jive-talking about what a great victory it was, the only reason you won/won comfortably was that cunt of a ref trying to get his name in the papers.
Cashley Cole almost breaks someone's legs last week and gets a booking, Mascherano asks the ref whats going on and bcoz its at Old Toilet thats worthy of being sent from the field in such a massive game if football.
Oh and on the "96 Wasn't enough" banner, well I wouldnt expect anything less to be honest, United like to play the "Everyone is against us card" and like to stir shit about how Liverpool and Manchester City say horrible things about them but United's shit-bag fans are probably the worst of the lot.

No, we had the better of you all the way through the game, even before the sending off we had the chances Rooney had a couple Ronaldo had one. The sending off just made sure. I think Gerrard had a deflected shot, that was about it.
Hmmm you seem not to remember last year when paul Scholes got sent off and We won 1-0 and a couple of years back when Wes brown got sent off and we won 1-0. At the game i myself thought it was Ashley cole but i watched match of the day and he was having a go at the ref ages before then and it was the right decision.
Yeah and not to mention the always look out on the runway for ice, and Who's that dying on the runway sung by them that day lets not mention that. Also the Munich 58 banner. Everyone is as bad as each other but as usual Man united are the worse.

Ah, blaiming the referee, that takes me back...
In a decent team, a three goal difference is not explained by one red card around half-time. I didn't actually watch the match (they don't show full matches of anything anymore, especially if there's no Dutch team involved), but a team with one man less that is not already behind (and if they are, the red card usually isn't the reason they lost) can put up a decent defence and try to hold out for a draw. Falling one goal short can be because of the card, 2 goals short the card and a whole lot of bad luck, but three goals is just plain unlikely. And ofcourse it might have been a show of effeciency, rather than brute force and there might have been luck involved, but that is rather reflected because of the 3 goal margin than because Man won.

The first half was even no matter what 4savo4 says, both teams were rubbish and the break through came from poor defending by Liverpool which allowed the ball to hit Wes Brown on the back and drop into the goal.
The sending off realy did affect the outcome of the game. It amazes me that United fans believe they controlled the game, both teams were equal until the sending off.
After the second went in Liverpool were shell-shocked and were still wondering what had happend when Tito Jackson turned inside and scored a quick third.... It was a good finish but by this point we had given up.
Im honestly surprised it didnt finish 4 or 5 nil
My point is if Manure had beaten 11 men comfortably 3-0 then Id hold my hands up and say fair enough but the way this is being banged on about like one of United's great victories I find astonishing.
Henkie I know what you are saying about 1 man going off doesnt "USUALLY" affect the game but you have to understand there arent many rivalries in world football bigger than the rivalry between Liverpool and Man U and when 1 of your star players is sent off for asking the referee a question all but ending the game as a contest then it has a massive affect on the game.
You cant chase a referee ranting and screaming at him but Mascherano calmly walked over to the ref and asked a question, he wasnt agressive or trying to intimidate him in any way. This is football not a facist regime, things have gone to pot if a player gets booked for nearly ending a players career one week and the week after in such an important game another player is sent off for talking to the ref.
If he had been sent off for a two-footed lunge it might have been different but the way he was sent off was disgraceful and the Liverpool players fell apart and lost all their shape and discipline bcoz they were angry and felt robbed.

He didn't get sent off for that. It was a bulid up from what went on before, Telling the ref to fuck off over and over again, arguing every decision for little fouls that there's no point. It's his own fault and there is no point sticking up for him, i'd be pretty disapointed in him.

He deserved to be sent off, he was being a complete prick. He wouldn't have gotten the first yellow if he wouldn't have told the ref to "fuck off" about 15 times for calling a foul on him. And when Torres got booked, Mascherano took his chance and did what you said. He ran a decent length, ran through one of his own players who was trying to restrain him, and got into the ref again, for no reason. Calmly walked? Only a Liverpool fan would say that. Not to mention he was in the refs ear all day and wasn't wearing the captain's armband.

Calmly walked...that's good :lmao:

That much is true. Dunno why you're needing to say it...........

No, they were in total control, before and after the sending off.
After the second went in Liverpool were shell-shocked and were still wondering what had happend when Tito Jackson turned inside and scored a quick third....
Shellshocked :lmao: It's that shite consistency coming from Liverpool that'll never see them winning a Premier League title.

I never said it was a great victory, other than I was fucking dead happy with the result.
but Mascherano calmly walked over to the ref and asked a question
He sure did, but after how many times the ref told him to go away and be quiet? Because Mascherano kept verbally abusing him... I think MOTD2 counted it as 6 times, which is a joke. Where was Stevie G to stop him aswell? Nice captaincy. Mascherano is a prat and deserved everything and was eventually going to get sent off. If he was such a good player he'd known already that the ref was handing out cards for backtalking (Like he did to Torres about 20 seconds before Mascherano got the red card) then he'd have kept his mouth shut. And how many Liverpool players protested his sending off ? About 2. They knew he'd gone too far themselves.
Also worth noting that there very well could've been a penalty early on and Carragher sent off for his shit, last ditch foul on Rooney in the box.

Tbh, you guys have clearly fallen into the "MOTD is gospel" trap.
They never showed Anderson backchatting the ref, which, if Torres got booked for his first offence, clearly should be a card for that wannabe pretty boy. They didn't show Tranny's dive towards the end, understandable as he did very little other than a header, but the way he was looking at the ref BEFORE he even hit the floor is just laughable.
I'm not disputing the result, or Javi's red, but the way the BBC skew things so the pundits can wank over United is so blatant it's embarrasing. Hansen had a quick jab, saying that Ronaldo was poor, before someone obviously told him to STFU, and he said how great his amazing super duper shot over the bar was.

Where? It's by far the best football program out there, because of how it's produced/directed/presented and the presenters, and I don't mean biased for Man Utd. (Cos they are!!! LOL!!) I only mentioned MOTD2 as a point of showing JB007 how many times Mascherano abused the referee. If I mentioned Sky Sports News, you wouldn't have brung it up, or would that be us falling into the "SSN is gospel" trap? :squint:

I honestly don't remember Ronaldo diving. It's up to the men behind MOTD to see what was conclusive into the match for it to go on air. To be fair, near the end it was 3-0 so obviosly a single "dive" isn't going to be worth showing.
understandable as he did very little other than a header.
He did a fair bit actually, just because he didn't take it round loads of players, doing dummies, doesn't mean he had a bad game.

Konspirasee.

So not everybody in the world sucks Ronaldo's cock then?
Also, with the "Someone told him to stfu", it's obviously a statement of opinion, look on any sports channel or program, not everyone agrees with each other. Or maybe listen to Jamie Flaptrap, he provides entertainment when he gets stroppy with other pundits.

Exactly, if someone ONLY watched MOTD2 for the match, they'd think that ONLY Torres and Masch spoke to the ref. When it's such a hot topic, they should be much more objective about it, but weren't.
It was obvious, IMHO, that someone was going to be sent off for dissent this week, after the Ashley Cole thing, and oh look....
