Do you sporty guys wear a letterman jacket?

Whats your experience of wearing them? Does it make you look cool? Does other people respect you for wearing one (for the right reasons)?

I'm thinking of ordering a personal jacket for myself. It'll cost me a lot but its worth it.

I've never seen anyone who wasn't in high school wear one.

I've never seen anyone in my county ever wear one, even football players. People just stick to their steam specific apparel. I'd rather wear a sweatshirt than one of those jackets.

I wore mine one day my freshman year in college and got laughed at incessantly, I've never worn it again, I'm 29.

Its more of a collectors item than anything.. but if you wear it in high school AND you are good at sports.. it'll be like any other jacket.

Its okay when your in high school or when your old, never in between, especially right after you graduate high school. I never wore mine outside of school. It just makes you look like a douche.

I live in the UK so it should be fine being seen wearing the letterman jacket, right? Because its rare and not very common. Not everyone in Britain knows what a letterman jacket is so I should be able to wear one without being mocked or laughed at. If I were to visit the United States one day, I should leave it at home, correct?
