I told this joke to my friends in high school, except better.

My version:

Two gay guys were walking down the street, when they spot a dog licking its ass. One turns to the other and says, "I wish I could do that".

The other replies, "Don't you think you should pet it first?"


It's funnier because it doesn't take away from the punch line with unneccesary shock value ("I was sucking my own dick")
