I think this win proves Kimbo can compete in the UFC, no doubt about it. Tank Abbott is nearly impossible to knock out. Kimbo fucked him up in the first round. He's going to be very tough to beat.

Yes, Kimbo beat a man, way out of his prime, over 40, and carrying 50 more pounds of fat. Tank was just a name to put Kimbo over. Didn't prove dick to me tonight.

He had 1 win in his last 8 or 9 matches. And every time he lost, it was in the first round. He is way overdue to retire. He did not have a chance against Kimbo.

Tank could barely compete in the UFC 10+ years ago. Kimbo's got some potential but this fight didn't prove anything.

I agree that Tank is way out of his prime but Kimbo's boxing looked great. Give him 6 more months of training with Bas Rutten and I think he'll be ready to step up to UFC. He won't be championship material but I think he could take Brock Lesnar.

I'm not sure, but I believe it's supposed to resemble a "slice."

I don't necessarily agree with you on this one. On the Bo Cantrell fight it did look a little weird, but I thought this was legit. I will say that Tank looked different. Even when I first watched the fight, I thought to myself, "something's different about Tank." He didn't look like his normal self. He didn't punch much or seem like he was trying. For comparison try to find his last fight in Cage Rage. Great fight, he even tried a leglock. Again, I'll give Elite XC the benefit of the doubt. However, here's some interesting gifs from sherdog.

I'm just going to call Kimbo what he is, he's a gimmick, a money making gimmick. Which is probably good for MMA's. Brings more fans in, but he'd get whacked by every heavy weight in UFC probably. Just give it a year, you will see Brock vs Kimbo as a headline fight. Gimmick vs Gimmick. But I'd still watch it.

Silva would destroy Kimbo, James Thomspon vs. Kimbo would be interesting since it's a shitty fighter vs. a gimmick fighter. Despite not getting into the Kimbo hype his stand-up is alright, so he'd probably knock out Thompson.

Kimbo is Gary Shaws paycheck and baby, he's not fighting anywhere else but EliteXC, Shaw claims that he can take anyone on in the UFC, dude is such a joke.

No one knows who his opponent is but it's probably going to be another scrub.

yeah. then again, shaw also makes claims that antonio "bigfoot" silva would be the one to beat fedor. after that performance against an out of shape ricco, we see how absurd his statements can really be.

elitexc always seems a bit suspect to me anyways. if i had to accuse any organization of having worked fights, elitexc would be it. just odd stuff.

I've heard Ken Shamrock mentioned in fighting Kimbo, not sure if there's any truth or how that would even work really, but it's pretty much what you'd expect. They (EliteXC) are trying to give Kimbo big names in the sport that are totally washed up and have no chance of beating him to build him up. Kimbo's stand up looked polished, but nearly every HW in the UFC has better stand up or the take downs or ground game to beat him.

It looked like Kimbo was reacting very well to tank's punches though. The "Bo Cantrell Shoulder Punch" that was talked about on shurdog looked like it would have connected had Kimbo not thrown the short left to block it. I think Kimbo has potential. He looks like a pretty bad ass fighter. I can't wait to see him in UFC. Fail or fly there.

He's not going to fight in the UFC. He's basically now the face of EliteXC and Gary Shaw is in love with him, he's their freak show. He won't let him fight there, and if he did I'd be surprised.

I doubt it would do anything to tarnish him. I think most of his followers probably already know of him being a porn bouncer.

I just figure that while he's in the Elite XC he will not fight anyone that will have a chance to beat him. The more he wins the more the Elite XC makes money. Shit's probably as rigged as the WWE.
