Daytona 500. Who's gonna watch it today?
I don't really follow it but this is the mother of all races. Let's go 50 car pile up!

The participants in the Super Bowl don't all run in the same direction for the whole duration of the game. Bad analogy.

I disagree. The Daytona 500 is the biggest race of the Nascar season. It's the best win a race car driver can get. The trophy to them is like a super bowl ring to football players.

Some people who arent into auto racing doesnt know what it takes to race a car like a nascar, formula one, indy car, or any others. The drivers are in the cockpit for 90 plus minutes depending on the race and it can reach over 120 plus degrees in the car while going at 200 MPH for the whole race. Its not as easy as everyone thinks it is and not even close to racing your average car down a side street in your hometown.

In the sense that The Superbowl is the American Football World Championships, then perhaps. NASCAR being a North American sport with pretty much only North American teams (I don't care who sponsors them). Still I suppose it would piss off the North American open wheel series.
As for it being the best win a race driver can get, I think there are others.
Monaco Grand Prix
24 hours of Le Mans
Indianapolis 500
and in more modern times:
1000 Lakes Rally
Bathurst 1000
Dakar Rally
Are all probably more important than Daytona.

I agree. Every class of racing has their own super bowl if you wanna call it that and I can clearly state that most americans arent into open wheel racing like I am. Most of the fans are from other parts of the world.
Anyways, Here is a list of the big races for a few classes in the racing world.
Formula one - Monaco
IRL - Indinapolis
CART - Long Beach
Nascar - Daytona
There are just too many classes of racing to mention, But I think people get the picture.
This year marks my 25th year of a racing fan and going to my first ever race which was at Long Beach. Through those 25 years, I have been to Monaco twice (1986 and 1999), Indinapolis twice (1989 and 1995), Long Beach five times (1983, 1984, 1985, 1992, and 2003), and Daytona once (2000).
Ive been to other races as well through the 25 years as I normally go to one race a year and this year. I am making a trip with my fiancee to Long Beach to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my first race at Long Beach.

So when are you gonna get your arse to France and complete the Triple Crown?
