I was just happy I got it back within a week of sending it in, and within two weeks of it dying. My biggest complaint is that not only could I barely understand the guy that was helping me, when he did talk, there was a lot back round noise.

I got it after a few months, so I took it back to the store and they replaced it stright away (after swapping all the info from the broken 360s HD to the new ones HD). No big deal. Now the new one i've had for just around a year, and i've never had that problem again.

I got my 360 at launch, and got the Red Ring of Death a year later. I took it back to Sam's Club (where I bought it) and they let me exchange it for a new one, and even let me keep my harddrive! That 360 is still going strong, with no problems whatsoever (knock on wood).

My friend's broke, however, and he decided to send it back to Microsoft....they sent it back 2 weeks later, and he got the RRoD a day after using it.

after i let out some steam cursing the machine i found some humor in it. i suddenly realized that the song i was about to play, before the 360 crapped out on me, was "don't fear the reaper". i had been fearing the 360 reaper for some time now and well he finally came.

Maybe they thought that since this is your second broken 360, that they want to make sure that it's not the power supply destroying your console. Have you gotten it back yet?

Anyways, I got mine back today, and all seems to be working ok. It's a refurb unit, with a few dings on it which pissed me off since my last unit was mint.

We'll see how long this one lasts.

You never had to blow into your cartridges with your NES or had a disc read error on your PS2? I had both of those systems crap out and I've had 2 360s, one was stolen, and both have worked fine.

I had a couple of buds round last week, and after an hour of playing COD 4 on my PS3, they've both decided to sell their 360's and go with Sony. The Playstations are reliable, they are more powerful, they have free online gaming and online store and a built in bluray player. Im not sure about America but in the UK a bluray player will cost you around 300 quid (600 dollars).

In my opinion, and I cannot stress this enough OPINION, I think the games for the 360 are much better at this point. I "think" that the best games for the PS3 are cross platform games and that there are better exclusives, presently, for the 360. If you feel different, that's fine. I don't care.

It's also very possible that these tides will turn very soon. But they haven't yet in my opinion. I bought my 360 before I could dream of getting my hands on a PS3, for much cheaper, and I currently cannot think of a single game that I could only get on the PS3 that I'm upset about. I've never had a hardware issue, knock on wood. So there's really no way to convince me that there's anything wrong with my console, or with my answer to your question about the VS????? thing.

That's the point though. You spend 400 dollars on a system, and you expect it to work. You shouldn't have to spend 15 more dollars and waste 4 hours of your life to fix a problem that should have been accounted for before the system was ever released to the public.

Personally, I have gotten it once. But that was because of a power outage. But lately, I've been noticing that it's been taking longer for applications to load, so I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that it's gonna brick on me soon.

I think what may have happened is Microsoft thought they would get anhialated if they released the 360 at the same time as the PS3 bcoz the PS2 pissed on the original Xbox from a great height.
Maybe they wanted to get a foothold in the market before the PS3 came out so they rushed an unfinished system onto the market.

I have spoken to people with newer 360s and there doesnt seem to be any of the problems that plagued the 360s that first hit the shelves early last year.

They are similar for the sake of discussion. Every console I've owned has fucked up. You talk about the numbers of 360s that have fucked up. But to completely honest with you, I don't know one person in real life who had a 360 screw up. And literally everyone I know who had a NES or original PS2 had them break.

It started to struggle to read discs so I had to elevate one sid of the Playstation so it was at an angle, as time went on the gradient of my PS1 got steeper and steeper until in the end it would only read discs if I turned it upside down hahahaa good times.

A few days ago my xbox turned all fucking green and shit while I was watching films on my theater in halo. So I restarted it, green again. Restarted again, all fuzzy so I was like fuck this it's my tv. I checked all wires, un-plugged everything, tried on my other 2 lcd's. And had my friend try his xbox on my tv with my wires, etc. It's my 360, because my HD works fine. I shipped it out to microsoft for $100. They fix, send back via ups ground, but ups fucks up and just leaves it in fucking Texas (I live in Massachusetts), and I just get an empty box. We call ups and give them my tracking # and they're like "oh, sorry, we'll upgrade your shipping." IT'S BEEN 2 FUCKING WEEKS AND I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT. FUCK UPS.
