View Full Version : I want to sart my own car make.
I've always had a dream to start my own make. Note that many people that have dreams of starting a supercar brand fail to keep it running simply because there is not enough customers to support them. That is not what I want to do. I want to build cars that target the everyday driver, but with a twist. I want my buyers to get the impression that their car is alive. I will install a computer system in these cars that will allow the car to "talk" to its owner. It will greet him/her, suggest a possible destination (it remembers previous routes taken), and possibly even make jokes with it's owners once in a while. You can even name your car like a pet, and it will remember the owner's name and others who frequently ride in the car. The cars I wish to make will not be just a machine, but a member of the family.
Concerning the designs of my cars, I would want a sleek sexy exterior and a futuristic, planelike interior, mabye with a fiber optic dashboard trim. As for the performance, every vehicle will be a hybrid, even a sports roadster that I might make for the upper class. Concerning saftey, i'll cram in every feature I can find.
But enough about my dreams, what are your dreams? Do you want to start your own make? Mabye you could become famous for your reputation for repair records, fuel efficency, luxury, or simply raw muscle and performance? It's your choice, I want to hear everything you have to say.

When I was a kid I would draw boats and layouts and would go down to the Marina and sketch boats I saw. Always dreamed of making my own boat company. I would goto the Library and stuff Boat magazines in my pocket and go home and read them all night. Then we moved a few miles from the Marina and I lost interest.

It is kinda hard to start a boat company, but hey, you could buy Designer CAD coftware and design the most exotic, luxurious boat you can think of. :)

Yeah, you'll have no problems launching your own make of high-tech supercar, but starting a boat company is a fucking stupid idea.

i want to build a super ghetto looking 82 mustang GT, that is painted flat black and has no interior other than a rubber mat, hurst shifter and 2 seats. dio and AC/DC will blare from the open T-tops, and all the girls in the trailer park will be begging for a ride when they hear the unnecessary 3" pipes and single chamber mufflers, right now it is only a dream, but you can help make it a reality, with a small (or preferably large) donation of any form of currency accepted by paypal, you can help get the Rustang GT on the road. if it makes the tree huggers happy i can even convert it to run on E85 ethanol assuming they pay for all the parts. Think Green!

I'm trying to do something like that too in a few months actually, I'm planning to start a electric-only car company in my home country, Vietnam. It's going to be very inexpensive and extremely simple. And with cheaper material and in a 3rd world country labor, cost for making them would not be expensive. Hopefully, it will help get rid of the old method of transportation, bicycles. Doing this, I hope it will boost the demand for better/cleaner method of moving around. And also, with the company growing which is centralized in only Vietnam, I would allow exportation of the vehicles to other countries which in return will improve Vietnam's growing economy. And depending on how big the company is, it will also provide a growing population of newly employed to the automobile industry workforce, which is essential as the base for setting up new car companies.
...and hopefully, in the end, I perhaps can design a supercar with all the features that I have always wanted.

That failed... they got rid of the annoying voice in later models, because everyone hated it.

Mabye I should make the voice a really sexy one. Yeah, just imagine now, the car recognizes the owners kids and they are really turned on by the voice so they sneak out at night and go dry hump the car, but the owner forgets to put the emergency brake on and the car backs over them. I'd imagine that would make a pretty interesting headline! :lmao:

I had a car that talked, 1985 Oldsmobile 98, it told me all kinds of useless things, and used to lecture me when the oil pressure was low.

You could make allot of money by designing cars to only last till the warranty ends.
Money is the goal, fuck customer service.
