fraps doesn't use much, it should reduce your fps by maybe like 5 at most. WMM is intimidating at first but actually pretty simple, if you wanted i could make it for you if you emailed the gameplay i like making movies/amv's/montages.

Windows movie maker is extremely simple, when i used to play WoW i made a PVP video wit hfraps and WMM. I had no prior experience and it was very easy to edit and put in music. A tip for you, record the video with the sound turned off in game, it saves trouble when you put in music.

thanks for your offer but i need to get the experience, and your right, the first time i looked at it.. it was almost as bad as my first time with photoshop.

yes i noticed on a montage clip on youtube when he turned the sound on for like 3 seconds... it sounded bad, thanks for the tip though!

Fraps will automatically limit your in-game FPS to however much you set it to record. Also, it records to uncompressed AVI files, which are freaking HUGE. It's not something you want to just leave running when you play.

Basically you want to record in-game demos using the source developer console, then go back and play them, and record the good parts w/FRAPS.

I made this whole big, really in-depth writeup how to make movies on source like 8 months ago back when I was in a DoD:S clan. Unfortunately, the clan changed webservers and my post is dead. :wah:

Just make sure you have the HDD space for it. Those videos are huge.
