Apparently Mark Taylor on Birmingham took out Eduardo's (Arsenal) leg, pretty gruesome. apparently so gruesome they didn't show it and Arsenal are trying to hide it in respect to the sport. Any news on where I can watch the vid? I want to see if he really deserved the card...

Taylor was the one who initiated the challenge. You can't defend the person who did it by saying it could happen to anyone. That's like saying the people at fault for 911 shouldn't be held accountable because "it could've happened to anyone".
It was a malicious challenge. He made the tackle, he is responsible.

I probally would, you can't compare Eduardo to Rooney because he's hardly Arsenal top striker. If you said Saha.

It's football tackles like that go in all the time Eduardo. How many two footed tackles have there been and not even a leg break? This one wasn't even a two footed and it broke his leg bad luck the way it goes. I don't even think it was a sending off.
Anyway i'm suprised Arsenal are not having a minute silence because of the way they're going on about it.

What don't Arsenal fans like hearing the truth? Fact is normally the player jumps out the way but unfortuantly it looks like he got it studs caught, if that doesn't break his leg he doesn't get sent off simple as that.

it was wella bove the ball, and straight to the leg..yeh he was slow, but still a sending off, even if it was an accident.

Next time you are juggling during a game, don't bitch when you get kicked. Gallas didn't get sent off or suspended because the ref wanted to kick Nani himself. But you guys didn't make a big deal about that or anything.
Fuck off.

I don't juggle because i'm English, we can't do skill.
Difference between the Nani incident is that Arsenal wanted to hurt him where as Taylor wanted to get the ball.
Anyway Arsenal fans can't complain about dirty tackles go and have a look at your diciplinary record since wenger been in charge and get back to me.

Oddly, the ball wasn't half way up Eduardo's shin.

The point of all of this is that nobody on these boards was saying much about it, especially the Arsenal fans. And you come on with all your shit about moments of silence etc etc. Blow it out your ass.

Just because i said everyone, i didn't mean on here.
It's up his leg yeah, but seriously if it doesn't break his leg it's a yellow at the most.

Fair enough, I'm sure if I was closer to it I would agree with you guys. What little I've heard about the death threats and Croatian media going ape shit, it does sound like it's being blown way out of proportion.
It is sad to see him go down now, to such a bad injury. Hopefully he'll recover and play again.
To make it fully clear, I'm conceding that you guys are right here, but...there's always a but.
I gotta say 4savo4, when you fully think about your statement, it's kind of asinine. The point is, he did break his leg, and the break was a direct result of the tackle. You could almost say that about any sending off, or any other play. If the guy wouldn't have fallen in the box, Birmingham wouldn't have gotten the penalty and the draw. Diving at a guys shin with your boot warrants a card, doing it hard enough and poor enough to cause a compound facture, well that warrants a red card. You have no argument, no leg to stand on as it were.

I know what you are saying but, hundreds of tackles the same as taylors have gone in this year without any leg breaks or red cards. Just Eduardo was unlucky.
It wasn't two footed, the stud were up yeah but i think that's only a yellow card offence. If Eduardo doesn't break his leg in that challenge, do you think it's a sending off? It's quite possible that another players leg wouldn't of broke under that pressure.
The worst leg break i've seen.

This is a tackle by Bouaouzan on Kokmeijer in 2004. Since then, Kokmeijer has had surgery 5 times and it's still doubtfull if he'll ever walk again. Bouaouzan has, since then, moved to the Dutch Eredivisie and has even been a candidate for the Dutch national team.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. My view is that the hundreds of tackles you are talking about aren't the same as Taylor's. They may appear very similar, but are in fact very different. I'd argue strongly that it's impossible that anyone would have escaped that tackle without a break. His bone was sticking out of his sock for fucks sake.

Exactly.
The only reason it came out worse is because Eduardo's running leg has gone on the floor at the exact moment of the tackle, thus giving his leg no option but to break. If his foot was off the floor he'd have just done a twirl in the air and be up in about 2 minutes. He was unlucky, it's the way things goes.
Though The Sun's back page fucked me right off today.

I still think he needs to drink some milk :p
I read the sun today what pissed you of about it? All i can remember is the Everton headline.
On the back page it's got a picture of Taylor attempting to block the ball (In training) and the headline? "He's still not learned" and some bollocks about it only being 48 hours after the horror challenge. I really hate reading The Sun, lol.
