The thread is titled "Nicest car NOT in america".
I posted a car. Yes, it is practically a race car, but it is a car.
If you want to stipulate other requirements I'm more than happy to oblige with a different answer.
I mean the Holden is nice and I love the LSX engines. However, to call it the "Nicest car NOT in america" is a misnomer as there are lots of other cars that are nicer and can't be had here.

wait for the G8 and then put the original holden front end on. far cheaper and less hassle. that way it's been imported for you already and already LHD.
also, wait for the manual and DI V6 to come out :)

I have yet to see a law that says the car must be LHD to be in the US. There is a RHD Subaru wagon around here from the early 90's that does mail delivery for rural areas, it was in this country long before it became used for mail.

thanks to the pontiac redesign the pontiac front end in particular looks a lot different (arguably a lot uglier) than the original front end so badge it and use the holden wheels as well and it'll be different enough. see the GTO conversions for example

Umm, I dun think so son. LSX is the accepted nomenclature. Take the time to find out if you are right BEFORE you claim a victory.
Again rookie, since you didn't realize that Holden and GM are the same company I wouldn't expect you know how it is properly written or even what it means...
If ya wanna play with the big boys, you better sharpen your knowledge a bit first.
You were identified, measured and found to be woefully lacking.

They are using LSx to cover all LS family engines, LS1, LS2, LS6, LS7,etc. The LSX is a specific engine in the LS family.

Yes, the LS family of engines are aluminum block engines. The LSX engine is designed to build for extreme horsepower application and has a cast iron block.
There is a huge difference.

I've always said LSx or LS* to cover the whole family, but was also aware of the LSX engine.
Also, I don't care about what engine is in a Honda unless I am working on it, and luckily that is a rare occasion.
Heh, look what I found, a post of mine from 2005, referring to the family. Actually, long before the unveiling of the LSX at SEMA.
I don't have a problem with your opinion, I would just like to know why you don't like them. I don't have much experience with the MOD family of engines, from what I see they are pretty nice engines. I couldn't go "the SBC is the worst engine ever made" without someone asking why I think that.
Also there is no way to include all American V8s, the LSx, Ford 335 series and Ford Y-block are all popular engines but are all left out.

Let's see here. I currently drive a 350Z. My previous car was a 2000 Camaro SS that I built. All the cars I have ever owned have been performance oriented cars. Why would I have enough interest in Honda to even want to start a discussion with you about it?
You want to talk Honda Motorcyles? Okay, I'm good to go there.
You want to talk about any and all Z-cars? Check.
True enthusiasts don't talk Hondas as they really didn't make a performance car until just recently with the S2000.

ok fine gm and nissan are your strengths, and my weeknesses.... and my strenghts are diff and they are probably your weekness, so think again when you call someone a rookie

Not knowing that Holden and GM are the same = rookie
Not knowing what the LSX is = rookie
Saying GM Shelby (mistake or not) = rookie
Stop acting like you know about cars and learn. Then people won't frown on your silly remarks.
By the way, just because I don't care to discuss Honda cars, doesn't mean I know nothing about them. I'm well aware of the differnt engines and I even know a few good engine swaps. That doesn't change the fact that I don't care to talk about a car that isn't performance oriented.
The only Honda engine I would even care to talk about is the F20C and that is because I'm amazed at the horsepower produced from a 2 litre engine. Just as amazing is the total lack of torque...
Edit: When you say Honda Performance cars before the S2000 you better not be talking about the S500, S600 or even the S800. Those were pigs powered by an underpowered motorcycle engine.

and if you wanted to count fwd cars, h22 preludes, some models came with 220hp, almost as much a s2k and more torque..... and if you wanted to get in euro and japan spec hondas there are many more of what you call "performance" cars.

LOL. How did I know you were going to go all NSX on me...
The quickest of the Preludes were 7.8 seconds 0-60. The '91 CRX was quicker than the '91 Prelude. That hardly makes the Prelude a performance car... Horsepower on the H22A1 (highest rated H22) was only 190. The car had crappy weight distribution and the all wheel steering was never any good. Not at all impressive and not at all a performance car. There was a Type S Prelude made in 2001 (I think) that made 220 horsepower, but it was still too heavy and didn't have good weight distribution.
Like I said; Honda is not performance oriented and I could care less about them. But even I know

pal you forgot the first obd2 h22z with the lsd trans .... 220hp
basicly any open deck h22 with lsd trans will push 215-220 and its more like 6.2-6.7
edit, dude your retarded! 91 preludes didnt even have h22's! see what happens when you talk about what you dont know

The H22z is an Australian motor and has the same block as an H22A. I'm sure my buddy with the 911 from Australia will back me up on that one.

HERES ANOTHER THING YOU JUST FUCKED UP ON.... all-wheel steering was not a feature on preludes with h22's!

yup.. the prelude is more a grand tourer/econocar anyway than a sports car.
the CRX has far better sporting credentials, even if it needs some work to bring out the best of it.

if theres a full kit, go for it... otherwise you would run into many other problems..... if your not looking to build the b16 that much then it would probably be cheaper to mod the stock engine

not really, the A series motor isn't all that flash.
popular swaps are the turbo 1.3L engines from the toyota starlet GT or a similar engine from the suzuki swift and daihatsu charade, non-turbo conversions of the last being great for economy. the B16 is more expensive but keeps me in the right race category and is different

Honda sucks.
When did this thread turn into a competition about who knows more about cars? Why would that ever be a competitive thing. And how does knowing more about Hondas than someone else knows about GM (or vice versa) trump anything? You guys are ridiculous.
Hey Clutch, would you mind telling me a little about the history of your Porsche? Like, how long you've had it, what you did to build it, how much you invested, etc. Thanks in advance.

i've had it since..last august i think it was? i can't find my own thread.
i didn't do anything to build it apart from get a set of wider wheels and toy with the suspension a little. the guy who built it (with the help of the workshop i take it to) is 73 years old, and wanted to get something more benign for the road as he was giving up tarmac rallies.
I was still looking for a 968 CS or a widebody 3.2 when my mechanic told me it was going to be up for sale the next day. as i'd seen it in action the week before at the suncoast rally bought it that afternoon for the same price as a honda civic type R :)
i remember while getting the wheels for it, the tyre guy accidentally knocked the engine kill switch - i acted like it was ruined and they'd fucked my car and they fitted bridgestone potenza's for free  as soon as they went back inside i just flicked the switch back on and drove off.
as far as i know it's been in one targa tasmania rally, suncoast classic rally, and a PCQ bathurst classic sprints event.
i have a pic somewhere of it with all four wheels off the ground during the targa tasmania :ahhh:

We can get the Ariel through Brammo Motorsports in Oregon. I don't believe the 500 is offered here yet. But we can hope and dream.

Well some reports mention that the Levante is limited to 8 cars. Maybe if you have the money to buy one they will export it to the US in LHD configuration, who knows?
The Atom built by Brammo under license doesn't even use the same standard engine as the one built over here by Ariel, so I doubt a mental version like this would be transferable. Same applies to this as the Levante though. I'm guessing if you had the money they'd make you a LHD one for you to import.
I don't think you could easily take a standard car and give it the Russell Savory treatment unless you already worked in a performance engineering shop, and then if you had wanted to you would have done already.
