It sounds more like they were making unlicensed replica/lookalikes which the Italian police have a problem with.

yea but it sounds like they kept the fiero engines in them

"The sound of the Pontiac's V4 engine is nothing like the Ferrari 348GTS's V8 which it would be turned into," he said.

I tell you, those ole' V4 engines were something else :bigwink:

Here's the same story, but this link has pictures of the fake Ferraris. I think they did a great job IMO.

those are regular kit cars but they customized the valve cover on a fiero engine.... there is no one that would believe its real, from the interior to the engine....

That's probably one of the dumbest articles ever written.

Seeing double? The fake car (bottom) is modelled on the real thing (above)

Considering one is an F430, and the other a 355.

We had a Ferrari Daytona clone in the shop a while ago, based on a Corvette. You wouldn't notice the difference unless you looked under the hood or had a real one sitting beside it.

theres this place that will replicate lambos to exact specs(they claim suspension also), actual lambo motor(although i find that hard to believe), and identical interior.... for 50k complete.....

they do other cars too, but i dont think they do ferraris, but ill try to find the link (50k for a car that is near exact to a 200k car is a deal, not that i could afford it but...)

Why buy a fake Ferrari when you could have a real Jalapeno?

"Police said the buyers were usually "businessmen" who knew that the cars were fake and would often hire out the cars for special events such as weddings."

I know, those don't look anything alike ... you'd have to be a retard to mistake one for the other.
