Just wanted to share... with no previous experience of working on motors. I removed and repaired (completely rebuilt) my engine. 180 miles thus far on the break-in. 9lbs of boost is ready to go(difficult not to wot). Need to finish the break-in and then a quick retune. Hopefully rocking her strong within the month.
New: crank, bearings, rings, valve seals, seals, water pump, gaskets (all... including Outlaw engineering IM , TB, and IACV), timing belt, tensioner, sc pulley, belts, boots, tie rod ends, injector o rings, brakes, rotors, header, intake and exhaust studs, spark plugs, clutch, TO bearing, pressure plate, resurfaced existing flywheel and replaced every freaking bolt/nut that I felt didn't look kosher. I'm probably missing a few parts.
I now feel intimate w/ the little yellow car.

Congrats on gettin her running again!
You SHOULD be doing some WOT now and then to seat your rings for full load. Run up like 3rd on the interstate (might not wanna do that in Va Beach :p) and then let it engine break back down.

^I've read many a recommendation from performance shop owners that swear by that procedure. Broke in my motor like that and it doesn't miss a beat under full boost, sounds very healthy and pulls hard. Just be sure to vary how you drive every day and let it see some load on deceleration until it's got enough miles on it.

Great info... I'm already 200+ miles into the "easy" break-in. I'm using the break-in period of the original manufacturer and advice of several other engine builders/tuners. I think that either way would be acceptable. I'm also not exactly tuned to go wot right now as it is. I'm gonna just take it slow until mileage and a fresh tune occurs.
Good link!

It was really exciting because I started it up at 1:30 am with only a downpipe out front of my house. Ran it for a little like that. Bla Blar Bla Blar Bla... (LOUD). Everything that was damaged during the accident was repaired over a year ago by a reputable shop. I did have a hard time getting the drivers' side axle out -it was bound pretty bad (perhaps from the accident). I'm always lurking here... just don't always post. BTW I had another child a month ago (my 4th). -he's doing well.
