Ok, I don't know of anything that's happened since yesterday, which is probably nothing, but if you have any news of trades/free agents/signings, put it here.

Damnit, it's going to be a long four months to wait.

Haha, Ovechkin has an all of a sudden breakout game again after being contained for so long and being virtually inconsistent mostly all year or so but has these little breakout games where he gets 5/4 points and all of a sudden again he's the "MVP". Come off it.

They'll give it to him because of his goals because he shoots the puck more then anyone in the league even if his team probably won't make the playoffs.

Because once a thread reaches over 1,000 replies, it gets another thread started about the same topic. It's supposed to make the forum crash less, which I must admit, since they started doing this, it really has improved things a lot.

Did you see where the puck was just before shark's third goal? Price was certain that he caught it, but it kept going slowly inside the net beside him, hilarious

i'm listening to it on cjad, i don't have rds, and i don't have a live feed. The refs are being complete fucking morons and i'm ready to put my fist through my monitor. If you know of a live feed, let me know because i want to watch this game.

I've seen you post in this thread before. I haven't noticed many habs fans here. I'm a life long habs junkie.

Here are a few facts about me:

I love the habs.
I live in leaf country and seeing them bottom out is almost as great as watching the habs win the eastern conference.
I hate Joe Thornton more than I hate the leafs.
I'm going to miss Huet.
I hate the Leafs.

and I hate the leafs.

Holy fuck. Ottawa, Montreal, and Boston all lost tonight. My prayers were answered.

Pittsburgh for the first time all year is the #1 seed. Although I don't know if it I like it, if the playoffs started now we'd play the dirty get every call Flying Shits. Man, the #1, 2, 4, and 5th seed are so wide open. It'll be a very nerve racking but exciting last period of hockey.

You're crazy. He's been so consistent, not inconsistent. He's been carrying my fantasy team all year in 1st place. Last week i finally lost for the first time in over a month because of his mini slump.

And being able to shoot more means you're just a smarter hockey player cause you know the postions to be in, or you read the play better.

I bet alot of players in the NHL can shoot 400 times a year and only score 10 goals.

Yea I'm hoping Witt will get Fedoruk'd, but I don't think he's man enough to fight Orr, so he'll probably end up settling for Avery...Witt's only had one fight this season though so chances are slim. These matches are always interesting, Steve Zipay's blog says that Henrik's in...no word on the scratches yet. Dubinsky and Gomez will play despite their minor injuries.

Because in hockey they play more games and you're bound to lose against teams that aren't as good as yours, it happens in basketball, baseball, and any other sport with a bunch of games played, it's inevitable. It's not uncommon.

YankeesSuck

I dont know what to think of the Bruins now. I mean they played so well won 6 straight. The streak ended with a 10-2 loss to Washington, and now a 8-2 to Toronto. And a 1-0 OT loss to Florida in between. So much for their replays being played first on the local sports, back to Red Sox spring training.

Yeah he had a shutout vs Tampa Bay in his first game back, but Tampa had very few shots/quality scoring chances. Last night vs. the Panthers he was terrible. Lots of rebounds, he doesn't know when to freeze the puck, and was terrible at playing the puck.

It's not a confusing sports league, it's just how the game is. And that's why it's the most exciting sport ever. The final 2 games of last season were the best hockey games I've ever seen; when the leafs had to beat Montreal in regulation to get into the playoffs, which they did in an absolute thriller, and the NY Islanders had to lose so the Leafs would make it, but won in a shootout. Absolutely amazing finish even if the Leafs didn't make it.

NY & Boston would be a good game, and probably will happen. Islanders would also be a good game, but i'm sure they'd get lower ratings if they kept everything in NY.

Not sure if the article mentioned it, but it could be the last sporting event in Yankee Stadium.

I think they want it to have a more intimate feel. Everyone is so far away at a football field.

what do you guys think of the NHL doing this during the college bowls? it sounded dumb at first, but i think all the bored american channel surfers is what gave the last one such high ratings. so many people seemed to come across it and stayed.

I always thought a Christmas Day classic was better. Nothing else is on(besides a b-ball game) and everyone is home. It could become a good tradition. I think people would prefer to watch a winter sporting event outdoors on Christmas day than guys running down the floors sweating in shorts, it just doesn't have that feel that hockey has in winter.

On New Years in the U.S, it's a college football day with many games, it's hard to compete there, even though i was surprised the game got great ratings.

Both Crosby and Hossa are expected to play on Sunday. I forgot Scuderi in my list, maybe others too.

Edit: I'm not sure why I put Malone in the injury list, got carried away. And I guess Sykora got the last minute OK for the game.

Touche. The most hated player in the NHL, yet if he was on "your" team, all of a sudden everyone loves him. As a ranger fan, I really hope he gets his contract worked out - the rangers have an incredible record when he is healthy for the most part. Not to mention I shelled out 250 for a NYR authentic Avery jersey (no not the gay 07-08 jersey)

Hockey needs some personality sometimes, and the guy is invaluable to our team.

The ref's should be more awake when reffing Montreal's games.

Just against Ottawa las thursday, a sen did a hi-stick to Koivu's throat and Koivu needed medical help, but the ref's didn't want to do nothing. A period later, Latendresse did the same to a sen, but accidentally. He got 4 mins penalty immediately.

And the second ottawa goal was done with the stick raised higher than allowed.

The same shit has been going on for a week. Why do refs hate the habs?

Exactly, bad coaching move. I don't care if it's a back to back, you don't play Kolzig in those type of games. Marty Brodeur hasn't sat out in months.

Now it's gonna be tough for the Caps to make the playoffs because they lost that game in hand, and now are a game ahead. Division title is lost, but they still have an outside chance at the 8th spot.

lol they like never play the song anymore...been to the garden three times this season and heard nothing. now there is this "dancing granny" shit...

there is a huge discussion over at the hfboards.com ...the article is blown out of proportion.

Are you referring to the homo larry song? I've definitely heard it this season, it might have been preseason though...and its New York for christ's sake, the gays need to lighten up.

Who else enjoyed watching New Jersey get ass raped?

Jersey is the most overrated team. They are 90% Brodeur, 9% defensive trap and 1% offense. They really need to find a new system IMO.

How can they not score goals..Elias, Parise, Langenrunner, Zubrus, Gionta, Madden, Zajac ect..?

Sadly enough I agree with you. I am a die hard Devil fan and it is upsetting. Sure we are going to make the playoffs and might even win the conference but I know we are screwed when we get to the playoffs.

We depend on our defense too much. But let me say if the devils average 3 goals a game in the playoffs we might win it all.

Won't happen, not with the way things are goin and especially if they continue to play like they did against the Pens.. I just hope the Pens keep up their level of play right now, aside from the Rangers game they been playing as if they've been playing against minor league teams. The defense has been a bit iffy though, which is really the only thing that is worrying me.

But they can't keep on scoring because of their style. It's nearly impossible to score many goals a game when your D plays no part in your offense and sits back near the neutral zone. It's basically 5 on 3 when they are in the opposing zone trying to score, nearly 2 guys to every Devil.

Devils live on forced turnovers and transition. You will see most of their goals that way, or on the PP. That won't last long in the playoffs because teams play smarter and faster.

Jonathan Roy (son of Patrick) fights opposing goalie... actually more like attacks the other goalie, not much of a fight. Looks kinda cheap, but I don't know the full story, the Roys (both patrick and jonathan) claim the other goalie was taunting. I bet Johnathan is a little cunt though being a Roy and growing up filthy rich (and he's french canadian :p)

Wow. It looked like he attacked the other goalie. At least the kid has a little fire to him, reminded me of Ray Emery during the Ottawa-Buffalo brawl (Emery fought Goalie and Andrew Peters). But since he is a French Canadian I do not like him.

7-1 MTL ! (end of 2nd)

1-3 Pens ! (halfway through 3rd)

I came!

Edit : 7-5 MTL. Damn, that 3rd period scared the shit out of me.

Anyway, first team in the east with a confirmed playoff spot and with a comfortable lead at first place!

Montreal will choke in the first round biatch.

Only if they finish first and washington 8th

Or if washington gets the division lead, carolina will end up 8th and that will fuck shit up

I think that if those two scenarios become 99% possible, Montreal should do everything to finish 2nd (they'll get boston or philadelphia, which means free wins)

But then again, the habs are too proud. They won't give ever up

YankeesSuck
03-27-2008, 01:24 AM
You can say free wins cause Bruins pretty much got smoked in all the games. Except the last they were in it.

But anything can happen in the playoffs and you Habs fans should know that upsetting the Bruins one year. I just think Habs are vunerable in round 1 no matter who they play due to Price/Halak as goalies. They doing great this season, but the playoffs are a different story. When Bruins were leading the Habs in that series. Raycroft was terrible the rest of the series and couldnt handle the pressure in his first playoffs series. And he did great all year too.

You traded Huet so Halak would stay, but Huet would of helped more in the playoffs.

And Bruins #1 seed in 02, Habs #8 seed. Montreal completes upset. #1 Montreal vs #8 Boston, prefect setup for revenge? Montreal rookie goalies, Bruins have veterans this time. Call me crazy but it makes me think they can do it.

treatboy
03-27-2008, 04:19 PM
perfect set up for revenge?

how does 0-12 sound for the season? That kind of destruction can put an entire city into a depression. If that's the case, here's hoping the depression rubs off on their football team. I hate the patriots like i hate the leafs.

anyways, go canucks!!! They'll be golfing soon.
