"A man reportedly held a knife to the throat of his 15-month-old nephew and decapitated him in front of his mother in a Saudi Arabian supermarket.

The 25-year-old Syrian man beheaded the toddler apparently after having a dispute with the toddler's parents, his sister and brother-in-law, Arab News reported."

Probably the only part of islamic law i agree with is that when somebody commits murder, there's no screwing around with the sentence, they get their head chopped off as punishment. That's real justice right there.

He probably couldn't handle the low-low prices of Haji-Mart.

"Prices so low, you'll lose your head!"

- Not the time to lose one's head.

- No.

- That's not the way to get ahead in life.

- No.

- It's a shame he wasn't more headstrong.

- Hmm.

- He'll never be the head of a major corporation.

- Okay, that'll do.

- Okay.

I love it. In America family disputes are settled with words and sometimes for bad ones the police come and mediate the argument.

In Saudi Arabia, an infant gets his head chopped off by one of the disputing parties.

Mind you, this is the country that has a zero-tolerance drug policy and will jail you for having a poppy seed on your sweater.

I think they really have things figured out over there.

This is too far. Knife violence has got to stop. Too much has happened as a result of sharp objects. If only we could ban them, there would be no violence.

Really? Don’t think that statement is just a tad bit disingenuous? We have all sorts of sick domestic killings in this country. Remember the baby beat to death by her father for interrupting his game of Ghost Recon?

You'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands!! ARGHH!

That's waaaaay different. If the baby interrupted Ghost Recon, then it deserved to die.

Nah seriously though, bizarre killings like this tend to be way more isolated in the US and the rest of the western world than that pit of backwards Neanderthals we call the east.

And you could almost spin some twisted logic in there - the baby was the cause of the disturbance in the Ghost Recon incident, yet the baby in the supermarket just happened to be an innocent bystander.

It was in the fruit and veg section, I've often thought of decapitating someone after being faced with too many melons.

I used to work in the produce section of a grocery store. I always thought it would be the most hilarious thing to haul off and wail some whiny ass toddler with a potato, right in the face or something.

Well, I guarantee that I could find a similar story here in the U.S. (if my time wasn't so valuable to humanity). I'll agree that Saudi Arabia is fucked up in general, though. The worst part is that the family could pardon him under Saudi law, so it's possible that he'll just end up walking.

Yeah. Like I said - I'm not denying shit like this happens in the west. It's just that... in general, it seems we value human life alot more than they do. Makes me wonder why we're bending over backwards for them at every opportunity.

I definitely agree a lot of middle eastern countries are fucked up, but the statistics don't lie, my friend.

Murders per year by country (http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_mur-crime-murders)

# 48 - Saudi Arabia - 105

#6 - United States - 12,658

Unless my calculator lied, Americans kill each other 120.6 times as often as Saudis do per year. That's kind of a lot. So much for Americans respecting life :uhoh:

Well, you do have to take into account that we have roughly 12 times their population.

Okay...multiply their murders by 12 and get around 1,260. We still have ten times as many murders.

I think this nation, for several reasons, is more worthy of a trade embargo than any other nation, especially Cuba, but sadly we can't do that yet due to our lust for oil.

Okay...multiply their murders by 12 and get around 1,260. We still have ten times as many murders.

That's because most murders are committed by the gov't in theocracies and authoritarian regimes, so they aren't counted.

Clean up on isle five

I like this the last part of the article
"Murder is punishable by death in the Islamic country, and the sentence is usually carried out by beheading"

Although he will have a professional doing the beheading, not like the butcher job he did on the baby. Maybe they should get a blind executioner to take some whacks
