I remember reading that this new album was going to be "brutally"
heavy. That really isn't any heavier than anything on their past
efforts.

i believe a lot of disturbed's fan base felt that ttf was pansy shit.

btw, this song is a remake of a song they wrote even before the sickness album. before they even had a record deal. here's the video for it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVmcQiXOulY).

Good point. I guess what i'm trying to say is that their older music sounded closer to metal than this new music.

I still like Disturbed more than any other of the bands that fall under that hard rock/nu-metal genre but i'm disappointed by that song

Not really. It was a breath of fresh air for them.

"The Sickness" was an amazing album, IMO. "Believe" had shitty production,
and lacking songwriting. "Ten Thousand Fists" had more complex song
structures, and hit way harder.

disturbed helped me get into rock which then led me to metal...they released me from the grasps of rap and hip hop, thank you disturbed

Definitely heavier than their Believe album. Sounds more along the lines of the Ten Thousand Fists album, which was my favorite one. But I think it's pretty stupid to judge the entire album off of how this song sounds. There could possibly be much heavier songs on there than this one.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Indestructible.

I enjoy bands like Death, Opeth, Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, BTBAM, Cynic, Slayer, etc. but I also like Disturbed, even if they are light compared to lots of music I still enjoy them.
