Yeah most ppl don't like his type of music because they're all into rap and screaming rock. That shit hurts my head. I like to listen to music I can relax to not punch a hole in my wall. But I guess its personal preference.

I could say the same about Opeth. I didn't like Jack Johnson's new album, his other there were pretty good though.

While I do get the feeling that this is just another one of your anti-metal tirades which you never back up, I'll assume it's not...

Anyway, this is down to opinion so I'm not going to try to dictate yours, but I will say this. Opeth progresses between albums... Jack Johnson's first song sounds the same as his last one, and there hasn't really been any change in his sound over time. Most of his songs seem to have the same structure and elements. I don't mind Jack Johnson and I used to be a fan until his second/third albums where it just became too repetitive. I still listen to a few songs sometimes like It's All Understood... I love that song.
