My all time fave song
Lifes been good by Joe Walsh, always been my funeral song.
"Won't get fooled again" would be a good one.

Since music pretty much defines my entire life, I'd prefer to have my funeral focus on the music that, you know, meant something powerful to me.
These songs aren't really 'appropriate' for a funeral, but what I'd like to do is have each person involved in my life say something connecting me to one of the songs below, then to have that song played. I wouldn't need someone doing a long, boring reflection of my life if they just used the music.
The bold ones are the ones that *really* matter.
All That I Am by The Afters, Thank You by Alanis Morissette, Epiphany by Bad Religion, Believe by The Bravery, Wake Up by Coheed&Cambria, The Hardest Part by Coldplay, What's This Life For by Creed, Free Life by Dan Wilson, The Weight of the World by Editors, Look After You by The Fray, Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, Pardon Me by Incubus, Timothy by Jet, Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World, Bent by Matchbox 20, Fortress by Pinback, Monkey Gone to Heaven by Pixies, Pure Morning (Les Rythmes Digitales Remix) by Placebo, Nothing Better by The Postal Service, Chemistry of a Car Crash by Shiny Toy Guns, Listen to the Radio by Sloan, Same by Snow Patrol, Something to Look Forward To by Spoon, How's It Going to Be by Third Eye Blind, Shackled by Vertical Horizon, Luckiest Man by The Wood Brothers, and Start Today Tomorrow by Youth Group.
Damn... thinking about something like this makes me really sad... really mortal. I'm not scared of death one bit, but jeez. This sucks.

I would have them play The Grand Conjuration by Opeth, so 1 of 2 things would happen:
1. I would rise from the dead and feed on the flesh of my mourners
2. The song would conjure demons instead and possess the mourners, then they would feed on my flesh and have a blood orgy in the church.

Well i can't say i'm a huge fan..but i love the idea of saying "I can't wait for you to shut me up" at my funeral.
I'd also probably want Grace by Jeff Buckley. I always get sad when i hear that song. It feels too much like his swan song.

It's pretty heavy shit. Their newer release of Butcher the Weak has a different vocal sound because the once-bassist is now on vocals. Wayne Knupp (RIP) had that one of a kind gurgling burpy sound, which makes the earlier shit so good.

My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion
It's just so powerful
That song makes me sad even if I'm in a good mood.
But at my funeral I guess Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum would be fitting. Also my Dad told me to play this at his funeral when he dies so I kind of feel sad when I hear it.

I agree with DOn't Fear the Reaper.
Along with Soothsayer (http://youtube.com/watch?v=adV8-_hgL4g) by Buckethead, I Love My Parents (http://youtube.com/watch?v=BwXlzy9k7jI&feature=related) by Buckethead, Candlelight Fantasia (http://youtube.com/watch?v=IhtWJGmrpgc&feature=related) by Symphony X, Paradise Lost (http://youtube.com/watch?v=IeO67D99rVc) by Symphony X, and perhaps the best one of all (especially the theme and lyrics), A Change of Seasons (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nue36kDfbZY) by Dream Theater. It's about a man's life, his death, and how he wants to pass on everything he's learned to his son. And it's an awesome song. Plus, it's 23 minutes. Oh, and that GH2 video was the only one on Youtube that had the full song.
And of course, Free Bird.
